Just curious if I have any other options besides getting a tourist visa all the time. It is looking like we are averaging 2 trips a year to russia and it would be nice to not have to shell out $400 a year just for the tourist visas. Are there any other types of entry documents to get? i remember talk a while back about a 3 year visa but not sure if that ever happened. Is there some type of allowance for the spouse of a russian citizen?

Hello,

Iam afraid that y do not...

The family visa is valid to stay up to three mth for a single or double entry and the tourist visa will depend of the hotel or the family invtation/voucher.

Also it will depends of yr nationality and where y live...

For what iam aware, business or tourist visa valid for 1 or 2 years has not been issued for at least 4-5 years.

Im pretty sure of thus but i cld be wrong.

Xxso

Good luck

New visa laws were just passed a few weeks ago. http://www.acg.ru/english/visa_regime_between_russia_and_usa_is_relaxed

So you'll be able to get a business or tourist visa valid for three years that allow for a six month stay, and staying for another six months would only require a trip across the border and back.
