It's funny that right after I told my congressman that I wanted to know who was in charge of the USCIS CSC, because I was going to make it my mission in life to get that person fired, that the NVC suddenly got my file (after 55 days post NOA2) My file was in those groups that the CSC "accidentally" sent to a storage faciliity after approval! Can you believe that? This system definitly needs fixing!

The system is indeed broken but to me it's not because of folks that can come in on a tourist and adjust.

The system is broken because they have proven that they can do it faster by expediting military (which I agree with), by other reasons they deem necessary and by mistake (someone got NOA2 in 10 days was it?).

Background checks doesn't need to take 5 months and the money that we pay for the privilege is a lot. They can privatise soem of the stuff, we already have privatized prison systems and privatized wars. Besides we are probably the most documented bunch of USC with what we submit with the applications.

Anyways these discussions are good for passing the time yes.gif

Anyway, this is just outright whining, I'm sorry, I just had to vent. Every day I check my email for something from USCIS, even on the weekends when I know it's useless. I just want to see her again but I can't exactly afford the 2 grand it costs to fly to Holland and back.

I know how you feel. Just know in your heart that you did it the right way. The thought of not being able to be together because of taking a risk like that is just terrifying... could you imagine being in a situation where your fiance could never come visit your family with you? It takes a lot of patience, but you'll get through it!

i'll be throwing tantrum pretty soon just like you lol joke i just send my rfe same day when you send it..but no NOA2 yet :crying: :crying: i'm guessing maybe anytime next wk will be getting our noa2(i'm praying) they got my rfe reply the nxt day(i used express mail)...did your status change to rfe to rfe response review? i ask becaus thats the time you know they got your reply..goodluck

Took them a month to get back to our case after our RFE... the whole thing has taken so much longer than expected, but now that our case has gotten through the NVC it's going fast! Just keep breathing... it'll happen!

They asked for proof of having met in person. I'd sent in the proofs I had with the original application and just sent in the same things with the addition of a few other receipts and pictures of our trip (most of which didn't have us in them, but were time stamped showing an entire day we spent together). It took a month for the NOA2 after the RFE and then another month for the NVC to get the paperwork. When we first filed, we had expected that we'd be getting married this month... instead we have a September interview.

This whole process is a huge lesson in persistence and patience. Just keep pushing through. The days will pass.

i have to agree with you, the system is definately broken..as you can see with the small percentage of overall filers that join vj, there is no standard of processing to be seen. persons with noa1 dates to noa2 dates vary so wildly with some approved quickly and others stagnant for over six months with no rfe or contact from uscis..so if we can imagine that on a much larger scale to all the filers that have not joined this forum it's just horrible and disheartening to think about a possible time frame.
