I received my NOA2 hard-copy today. It states that Petition has been approved and forwarded to listed consulate (which is Abu Dhabi in UAE).No mention of NVC at all.Does it look odd? Please let me know if this a default statement on NOA2 or my case is different?

Your USCIS-approved petition was transferred from one large government bureaucracy, the Department of Homeland Security, to another large government bureaucracy, the Department of

State. It is not uncommon for one bureaucracy not to know the correct procedures of another bureaucracy. Refer to the DoS Nonimmigrant K-1 Visa FAQs for more information.

BTW, this is a fairly often asked inquiry, your case is likely not handled in any way different from everyone else....

Good luck on visa journey.

I have heard that they sometimes directly send the petition to the consulate, but don't know if they actually do. Our NOA2 says that they have sent our case to the NVC and when I call them, they ask me whether my case has been forwarded to NVC or the embassy. So I guess there is a difference! But in either case, you should expect one of the following within 3-4 weeks:

1. Embassy informing you about the receipt of your case and the time of the interview.

2. NVC informing you that they have sent the petition to Abu Dhabi, in which case the embassy will also notify you about the interview.

You can keep calling both the NVC and embassy in the meantime (like me calling NVC everyday), but really there is no point in doing this, since whoever gets your case will inform you about the rest of the process ;)

Instead of calling everyday you can try this http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/

Good Luck :)

They do all go to NVC. Your letter says it will be sent to the consulate, and it will, but not before it goes through NVC.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Mine said it was going to NVC first. But I agree they ALL go through NVC before going to the embassy.
