What are you, like in the third grade? By your analogy, because Clinton had so many dalliances while married to Hilary it is okay for me to cheat on my wife.

You misunderstood my point. I was only showing you that speeding is not a liberal trait as you incorrectly implied. When I mentioned that justice Scalia confessed to speeding, I was not condoning the act so much as I as trying to point out how unwise it you be to equate political persuasion with driving habits.

Californians are lucky. On some of the toll roads, they can tell you have been speeding by the time stamps, and give you a ticket based on that alone.

No, I was illustrating a common liberal trait, of blaming the rest of the world for personal failings.

No point of having that sign up either they speed in the right lane too and ride your bumper.

That is why nobody should pass on the right... All the more reason to keep the left lane flowing. I think the US is one of the few countries where passing on the right is not prohibited. In Europe you can get a hefty ticket for doing so because it is inherently dangerous.

it's also pretty darn dangerous when its raining.

Cruise control is near impossible to use up here during the winter for the fact your constantly having to change your speed. Tail gating in winter months is a big time no no up here...you can't stop on a dime with the ice on the roads here. Summer months with all the tourist and cruise control though can be pure torture. That and all the motor homes during the summer months.

Trucks used to use governors to set the maximum speed a truck could go, and cops used to check those to make sure they were not disconnected. Back in the day when you had multiple shifters, it kept you from over revving the engine when you missed a gear.

Major difference between a governor and cruise control. One regulates your top speed as in how fast you can go, and the other one sets your speed at a constant. The high low is handy if you have a big load but with these new Allison automatic tranny's out recently the manual trucks are starting to become a thing of the past other than the trucks that haul doubles.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The new cruise controls are useful, especially in hill country. They will even downshift for you if you start picking up too much speed. They are handy when you are pulling a trailer. On a long haul, I drive with my thumb instead of the gas pedal and brake.

Passing on the right is prohibited in Connecticut and for the most part it isn't done. I freaked out when I moved to California and discovered it's pretty standard out here. I think part of that may have to do with having freeways that have 5 or 6 lanes in each direction, so there's more opportunity/temptation to pass on either side. Connecticut highways that have more than three lanes are the exception, not the rule, which I think controls things to some extent. Still, there are plenty of morons who use the left lane there as a travelling lane, too.wacko.gif

I think it should be prohibited in all States. The problem is not traveling on the left lane so much as not giving passage to drivers who wish to pass creating those long slowdown situations that are hazardous to all. With legislation at least it would give the Hwy patrol a chance to get these individuals out of the fast lane.

If they are impeding the flow of traffic, by driving under the speed limit for the conditions of the road, they will get a ticket, for not yielding if that line is five vehicles or more. If they are going the speed limit, then it is that long line of angry drivers that is the problem.

Come to farm country, and get stuck behind a combine going 5 mph with no room to pass, for a little perspective.

BS. If their in the left hand lane and there's cars behind them who want to get by them then they need to move their ####### on over and let those cars pass. If they cant handle that then they should have their drivers license revoked for being total tards who don't have any road smarts.

We get those too. I had one of those last year. It tried to cross the highway in front of me, and starting running along side of me. I slowed down to let it get in front me, and it still bounced off the side of my truck. No damage to the truck, or blood, but I think that doe may have a headache.
