$100 billion dollars from now and you will be able to travel an est. 220mph on Moonbeam Brown's new high speed rail. :D

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The missus puts it on cruise control at 85 on the I-5 between the grapevine and Santa Nella. She thinks she is Danica Patrick on the job at Sears Point!

No one obeys the speed no more they still drive 90mph on a construction zone no CHP around to stop them before they kill another person.

Even when the CHP is around, they speed. And, the CHP is writing more tickets, especially around construction zones. At around $290 a pop, the County of Sonoma is making good money off speeders and red light offenders. This is a tourist area, especially on weekends, and all summer long. If you are a local getting stopped for speeding, it's your own damned fault! Even in Santa Rosa, they get on the area radio stations, and tell you where the speed traps are for the day.

I just read this 10 minutes ago , the news just had 2 freeway workers killed this morning near Los Angeles. But I doubt it was because of the higher speed limits. Who drives the speed limit between Victorville and Vegas ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Equally dangerous, if not worse than that are those who believe they are responsible for enforcing the speed limit and set their cruise controls at the precise speed limit, on the left lane, making everyone else pass them on the right, thereby creating a hazardous situation for all on the road.

Not only that but also it is prohibited by law to travel on the left lane, which can only be used for passing... So you are free to use it provided you're going faster than everyone else.

It is only hazardous for the law breaker, and his victims.

Driving faster than the posted speed limit or driving faster than safe for current conditions on any road is dangerous and illegal. High speed increases your stopping distance. The faster you go, the less time you have to avoid a hazard or collision. The force of a 60 mph crash is not just twice as great as a 30 mph crash; it’s four times as great!

That is my point. There is a reason for the signs along the highway directing 'slower traffic (to) keep right'

Slow down and enjoy the scenery. You will live longer, without all that stress. Leave five minutes earlier, and you won't have to rush.
