N400 Application Questions

Hi everyone,

I’m about to start my wife’s N400 process. After reading through the form and the instructions, there remains a few questions that I was hoping someone could help me:

1) In the question 4B, it states “Care Of” ? Is this asking for my wife’s name. I’m assuming this is in her name, or should I put something like “SAME AS ABOVE” if the info is the same.

2) According to VJ’s naturalization guide, it tells us to:

If you answer 'Yes' to any of Questions 1 through 15 in Part 7 of form N-400, send:

A written explanation on a separate sheet of paper.

If you answer 'No' to any of Questions 1 through 5 in Part 8 of form N-400, send:

A written explanation on a separate sheet of paper.

Which doesn’t make sense. I’m assuming this information may not have been updated? There are questions there that may seem applicable, but they aren’t specifically “Yes” versus “No” answers.

3) For part 6. B, if my wife is currently in an unpaid internship, should I still list it here? If so, I will need to attach another piece of paper because it would be one “location” too many, heh!

Hello there!

1) If her home address is the same as her mailing address, the N-400 instructions say to write SAME. This is what I typed in the Mailing Address field. Other 4b fields I left empty.

2)Hmmm, Part 7 is time spent outside the United States, and Part 8 is about the marriage history? VJ guide should probably be updated. Take a look at the form itself and its instructions.

3) Not sure about this one, so I will let someone more knowledgeable answer it. You probably need to list it, but why so many locations?
