Affidavit of Support last 3 years income req.

Our petition was approved just on July 18th. My income in 2011 was about 50k. My income from previous years was only a couple grand, as I was a student. I am self employed so I can't arrange for employment letter. I made about 30k this year so far. Do we meet the requirement or do I need a joint sponsor? what form do I need to file out. Thanks for any help in advance.

You should be fine- your current income is most important, and you have enough there. Your last year also more than covers the requirements.

Considering you have not sponsored anyone else before and do not have any other dependents claimed on income tax return, your household size becomes 2 people and you have already made more than needed to qualify for this year and last year.

Thank you guys for your help. Most people submit an employment letter. Now I can't nor I have pay stub. I can create my current profit statement. Should I submit that?

I didn't submit employement letter or pay stubs, just my 2011 tax return and had no issues. I recognize though that you don't have 3 full years of employment due to being a student so the NVC may want more to prove income.

Do you have any large customers that could conirm YTD sales or something like that with? That would in essense act like an employment letter and pay stub. You could then substantiation that with a profit statement.

Thank you guys for all the help. I searched some old posts and found the answer. It is best to include bank account statement showing deposits.
