Hello, I've been reading topics and researching information for the past month about the K1 visa process on this site. There are a lot of information on the VJ site about the things that needs to be done and things that need to be sent in the 129f packet and so forth, but the process after NOA2 seems to vary in terms of region. I know that I haven't received NOA2 yet, but I just want to confirm the steps after I do. Never hurts to be a few steps ahead :)

1) After NOA is received, wait 15 business days and follow the steps here (Heed Post #7) to get a case number.

2) After case number is received, wait 3-5 business days and use above link to give the DOS a call and once you can confirm that P3 has been sent, fiancee can mail in the OF-169 signed and checked marked to the mailing address on top of the OF-169 form, along with the DS-230 (Part I only).

3) All the medical exam information and other forms that are needed will be in P4 once fiancee receives that.

I do have some other questions though.

- It says here that there needs to be a Visa Application Fee Information Sheet enclosed. What does that refer to? How much are the fees? When and where do you pay these fees? What does the NIV application fee receipt refer to?

Thanks for your time.

There are fees for the interview and for the medical exam that your fiance will have to pay. Not sure when or how much.

Have you been sending her any cash to cover this? Iv'e been using PAYPAL to do this.

If some of these fees can be done online I will pay for it, otherwise she has the funds to cover the fees. I'm going to assume the visa application fee is the interview fee. Does this need to be paid prior to when she mails back P3?

Here is the Application Fee info from the OF-169 form...

As of April 13, 2012, all K nonimmigrant visa applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of 240USD (or equivalent in RMB) at a CITIC Bank prior to the visa interview. The fee can be paid at any of the designated branches of CITIC Bank in mainland China. For more information, please contact CITIC Bank national Customer Contact Center at 95558 or visit its website at http://www.ecitic.com/bank/personal/chuguo/5.htm. Please submit the payment receipt at the visa interview.

I was going to pay the $240 application fee online for my Fiancee, the web page is completely in Chinese, though.

You don't have to pay it before package 3, you do need to have a receipt of it being paid at the interview, though. I think it can even be paid during the first document intake day, if I am not mistaken.

The fee has dropped. I don't know why it's not updated in the pdf you've referenced.

Usually, pay at ONE CITIC bank branch in Guangzhou, get the receipt in real time, and take it to the Interview.

Must pay in cash at CITIC.

She needs cash.

Visa Application Fee = Visa Application Fee. Interview fee = 0 after Visa Application fee is paid.

Must be paid after she receives Packet 4.

Finally!

The Wrap Up !

I claim this doc is outdated, for three reasons:

1. the fee is not current - it's exceptionally less than what's posted there and

2. there's a publication date of 2009. Outdated, IMO, and

3. there's a reference to the Visa Information Line. That beast died in late 2010.

so, this doc is deprecated, outdated, not pertinent.

You've the wrong document.

Study: GUZ IV forms http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm particulary the K-1/fiance set in the top.
