How Long Does it Take?

I believe Sian mentioned in another thread that she was approved for the visa, but that the embassy wanted a notarized letter from her son's father saying that he was fine with Jordan moving to the US. That letter was sent and received by the embassy one week ago today. How long does it normally take for the visa to be sent after such a request for additional evidence? Does anyone have any idea or experience with this? Sian has emailed the embassy, but received no response.

Any opinions are most appreciated.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Well, still no visa. It has been over a week now since they got the letter. I can't explain how awful this is making me feel. I handed in my notice at work after the interview was approved and now have only two weeks left. Kind of worrying if this is going to drag on. No money and a child to support is NOT good and I'm not going to even start on the issues this could cause with my house sale.

I sent another email to the consulate despite them telling me in their verification email not to send follow on emails. Well, they haven't replied to my original in the time they stated they would, so I think I have every right to send another. How they view it will be totally different no doubt.

I did phrase it differently and hopefully this "may" prompt a reply. Who knows.

I shall phone the "very expensive and unhelpful" line tonight and see if I can get an answer from them.

Poor Larry, I think I'm driving him slightly insane....

Yep the people in Glasgow - their computer data never seems to be updated.

I called after going to my interview on 10th October about another issue on the 19th October and they didn't evem have my interview date on their.

I'm also waiting for an e-mail response from someone.

Somehow I managed to call and speak to the person that interviewed me - SO if you remember the name of the person you could call the switchboard number for London Embassy wait for the recorded message and speak to switchboard - They transferred me straight to her.

She wasn't much help but it was worth a try!!

Nope the expensive number was no help what so ever. Said that once your interview has taken place they can no longer help you. The only way that you can contact them is through email she said. Well, yes, WE can contact them...they just don't bloody reply.....rather one sided.

Phoning was worth a try I guess. *shrugs*

If they just replied to the emails though, that would help alot. If I KNEW what was going on it would make it easier to bear. It's the not knowing that I can't stand.

Anyhoo, I've moaned enough.
