I AM ABSOLUTELY DYING FROM STRESS, NOW IT GETS WORSE. I TALKED TO EDGAR AND I ASKED HIM ABOUT THE MEDICAL AND HE SAID THAT THEY SENT HIM TO THE PSYCHIATRIST FOR AN INTERVIEW, HE TOLD HIM THAT HE TRIED POT 5 YEARS AGO IN SECONDARY SCHOOL WHEN I DRILLED IT INTO HIM TO SAY THAT HE NEVER DID ANYTHING IN HIS LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM CRYING SO HARD AND I AM SO UPSET, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SCREAMED AND CRIED TO HIM ON THE PHONE 'WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?" HE SAID, THEY SAID IT WOULD BE OK, I SAID " THEY ARE LYING TO YOU, YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT!!!!!!!! I HAVE JUST BEEN CRYING FOR HOURS NOW, I CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAVE COME THIS FAR AND HE SAID THAT TO :crying::crying::crying: THEM!!!!!!! HE DOESN'T DO DRUGS, HE DOESN'T EVEN DRINK AND NOW BECAUSE HE WAS HONEST I AM SO AFRAID HE WILL BE DENIED! HE CRIED ON THE PHONE SAYING HOW SORRY HE WAS - I AM IN SO MUCH DESPAIR NOW, WHAT HAS BEEN AN UTTERLY HARROWING EXPERIENCE IS NOW WORSE!!!!!!! I TOOK SO MUCH TIME AND $$$ WITH THIS PROCESS AND PAPERS AND FOR IT ALL BE SHOT TO HELL DOWN THE DRAIN FOR THIS!!!! I

AM OUT OF CONTROL NOW, I AM COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janet RELAX. The general rule at CDJ is you have to be clean for 3 years. If he admitted to trying something 5 years ago, I highly doubt he will have an problem. Sending hm to the pscyhiatrist was probably because he admitted to it and they just wanted to be sure he is not an addict. Really you have to try to calm down.

Read this post for clarification and take a deep breath!

My fiance's visa was denied because he admitted to smoking marijuana to the doctor during his medical exam. He told the doctor that the last time he smoked was Sept 7, 2005. So, the next day at the interview, the consular officer told him, sorry buddy, you have to be clean for three years.

Janet,

Take a deep breath, and stay with me. I can speak from first hand experience, since I was there only two short weeks ago. At first, it does seem devistating. It is a very scary feeling knowing that your future as a married couple depends on government #######. It is very overwhelming. So much nervous energy goes into preparing for these two days, on both partners.

But you have to remain calm. Take deep breaths. You are at their mercy, as bad as it sounds, but you must do what they say until the visa is in your hands. We couldn't have gone back the next day without more evidence because they wouldn't have let us in the building. Once I had the chance to plead my case in front of the CO officer, it made all the difference. But I still had to comply with their requirements.

You may get delayed a day or two, but this DOES NOT nesecarily mean you'll get denyed. Hang in there. It ain't over til its over.

oh my god I hope you are right, I just can't believe he opened this can of worms. I told him that if they drill him do fight fight fight. To tell them he's an athlete, takes vitamins and is very health-conscious - I am so worried, so so worried, I don't want to be denied, all of the phone bills, all of the crying from being apart, the time apart, changing my whole life to make room for Edgar, to lose everything now will kill me I'm sure. Please you all, please say a prayer for us -

KitKat, you really help out so much - I am going to tell Edgar what you said about the 3 years. Do you think I should call Warren Janssen in the morning? I know Edgar is so upset now but he is a fighter - and very persuasive. I told him to fight and say, "you actually believe that everyone that has passed through here is telling you the truth about never trying pot?" "They are lying!" "I am here telling you the truth, I want to do things the right way and do things legally by the USA" I pray they understand, I pray they understand.

I can't stop worrying.

Relax...I know how crazy you must feel, Janet, I'd be the same way. But all you can do now is hope for the best. Perhaps he could go back to the clinic first thing tomorrow and ask for his results to go to the interview. Even if it's Thursday and not tomorrow.

Janet, you can't call Warren Janssen. This is not about being mistreated by an immigration officer. The medical clinic is separate from the consulate. In any event, you have nothing to worry about. The rule is 3 years. I don't see any reason why he will have to fight anything or that there is anything they need to understand. It was more than 3 years ago. They may bring it up at the interview. If so, he can simply explain again exactly what he said at the medical clinic: he tried it once, FIVE years ago. That's it.

Try try try to relax. If the medical results are not there, they will most likely just give him a pass to leave and pick them up and return. If it's too late, he can go the next day.

I really need to coach Edgar tonight - my friend whom is Peruvian is on his way over because I've been crying so much. He can at least talk to Edgar better than I can with detail so I am going to take that route.

KitKat, should I call the Warren Janssen guy? Or wait until the results of the interview? I know I can convince him -

Janet, again you can't call Warren Janssen because this is not a case of being mistreated by an immigration officer. But there would be no reason to call anyway - the rule is three years. What he admitted to happened five years ago. No reason to worry - really! He just needs to reiterate to the interviewing officer that it happened once, five years ago.

Day one: Marco's medical exam. Fairly painless.

Marco went to the Clinica Medica Internacional that’s to the side of the Consulate, he could see it from his room at the hotel la playa.

He got there at 6:20, and there were already people there. It’s a good thing he stayed at that hotel because he could see the line, and he said that people were there starting at 6:00 am. There were about 80 people, maybe more. Regardless, it moved quickly.

He got in at 7am. They took his passport and invitation letter and took his photo.

7:15 They took two in at a time which is where they take your blood. They were really nice, it was a young guy, like 23 more or less. He was even joking around about his tattoo, he told him that it’s a good thing that he’s got visible veins because otherwise with his tat it would be impossible to draw blood.

Then he went back to sala de espera 1.

7:35 they called him in for x-rays. They went in four at a time. The technician wasn’t rude, but he was shorter with them because he seemed harried. They made him take out his hair band and put his hair in a bun!!! He had to take off his shirt and whatever chains you might be wearing (he wasn’t). It didn’t take longer than 5 minutes.

Then he went to sala 2. That’s where they give you the physical. They called them in in groups of four. Every time you go to a new sala they check your info again. If you had a previous petition, they have to check your records more thoroughly and that takes more time.

Then they called him again and put him in a room. He had to take off all his clothes (except his boxers and socks). They measured him, weighed him, asked about any illnesses, if he’d had surgery, if he’d ever been in trouble with the law, immigration, if he’d ever been stabbed or shot. They asked if he had tats or piercings. They checked his tattoos. He got a really nice woman doctor about 45. She asked him what they mean, what they were of, and he explained all of them to her. Then she had him walk towards the wall and told him to pull down his boxers to his knees and turn towards her. She asked if he’d had any stds. She did a superficial check of his genitals, no touching. Then she checked out his ###. I think they just do this for fun.

Then he had to get dressed and he had to take a urine drug test. He went out and waited, and about 8 minutes later they called him for the urine sample. They brought him to the Sala 3 which is where they do vaccinations. He waited about 35 minutes and he kept seeing people go by, and he finally asked and they told him that he didn’t have to wait, he could just go pay.

The window to pay is right at sala 2. They gave him back his passport, his invitation letter, and a number with to come back at 2pm to pick up your packet.

Marco doesn’t think you need to get there so early. At 8 it was really empty and they attend until 11 am. He thinks if you go around 8 it would be perfect timing.

Then he went to take his photos right there in front. They were 15 bucks and they’re guaranteed.

They went to Banamex and they gave him like a receipt like a supermarket receipt. He was expecting something fancier.

By the way there’s a supermarket in the mall in front of the Banamex if you want to buy anything to eat.

Everyone there has been shocked that he’s on a fiancé visa, not many people are there for it. Almost everyone’s there on family visas and have been to the US a lot of times. Most people don’t seem educated about the process.

tomorrow's the big day!!!!!
