Maybe you could blast your super impressive stereo and play X-box to calm your nerves?

I've NEVER heard of the Advil thing before...I truly hope it's just an urban legend.

I swept and swiffed and mopped. I don't have any Xbox games to play. A wiser girl would head over to the beach, but I think I will plug in his fancy DVD player and watch a film. :D

I read up on advil and apparently it was true, but now there's more modern technology. I can't WAIT until this is all over, god knows I'm obsessive. Part of me wants to hop on a plane and go over there, but I know it's totally pointless.

And being totally disconnected from the world isn't helping any either.

I'm still here, Edgar goes for his medical tomorrow - I'm already freaking out too - I hope this all goes ok, I did my best on the paperwork and I do have everything in there that they need, I just don't want them playing with his mind. Edgar is supposed to be at La Playa too but instead hooked up with a childhood friend that lives there - but it's alittle far from the consulate so I just hope Edgar goes there and gets into a room. Edgar doesn't have any tattoos or anything thank goodness.

Gosh, tomorrow I should be much more stressed! Hang in there! I'm in the same boat!

Calm down ladies, everything will turn out fine. I know these days are definately very, very stressful and it's hard to think about anything else, but try to relax. I know how you both feel though, try not to think about it too much though. Remeber think, happy thoughts

yay! thanks for your wise words of advice alejandra :)

I graded papers all evening and tried not to think about tomorrow.

About 9 I phoned Marco over in Juarez and we went over every play-by-play of the medical and consulate that I could find on this message board. Thanks everyone for taking the time to write them. I hope I can live up to them tomorrow night, though as far as timestamps go, I doubt it.

And Mr. oh so cool I'm not nervous is too funny because he suddenly couldn't remember my birthday!!!! I told him he had better watch it because the alley behind our house is pretty cold in the middle of the night.

Tomorrow's the medical.

Further bulletins as events warrant.

JAnet and Edgar #3 (or is it #4?) buena suerte!

nitenite everyone! I seriously wish I could just sleep through the next few days!

#3? #4? I don't know what you are asking lol.

I'm a wreck, Edgar just called from the medical, he said it's packed.

He was concerned about a form called OF-156, OF-156 is the OLD Visa application isn't it? Somebody please confirm --

Also, can someone please list the questions so I can go over them with Edgar tonight?

Please stick around you guys, I need moral support today and tomorrow!!!!!

Janet, starting at about page 65 of this thread and going backwards there are several lists of questions that people got asked. We did it last night.

as for the numbers, I was just teasing because it seems like everyone's got an Edgar except for me.

Tell him not to listen to what ANYONE says because he's probably one of the few at the exam that is there for this type of visa and people will only give him bad advice.

I agree...when Efrain and I went to Juarez I spent a lot of time waiting around talking to random people...and I was AMAZED at how much I knew...and how little they did. I couldn't believe that people did the whole thing so blind...without researching or without knowing any better... We felt so good just knowing that we had done our homework. Even knowing what forms to bring was a benefit...

One lady I met (who I am SURE was crazy) didn't even know what visa they had applied for, and her husband had been illegal for like years and she kept talking about them driving across the border later that day....he was her ride back to wherever she lived in Texas. And I was trying to break it to her that he would probably not be going with her when he told them that he lived in Texas...illegally...for 6 years! But then Efrain came out of the doctors and saved me....

Good luck you guys...I am sure your guys are going to do great...

I also wanted to wish your men the best of luck today and tomorrow. Although tomorrow you will both be on pins and needles, keep in mind that you are both well prepared. Everything will turn out as desired and will soon be reunited with your loved one. Good luck to both again, and I look forward to congratulating you tomorrow when they have their visas in hand

DS-156 is the non-immigrant visa application - he needs it.

OF-167 is the public charge information. It's not a form to be filled out - just a list of instructions for what kind of proof you need in order to meet the financial requirements. http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwfof167.pdf

Thanks KitKat, yes he has that form done that I completed on line so it has the barcode etc, and I'm aware of the OF-167, I think the OF-156 is the old visa application form, he asked me about it and I don't know where they heck he got it or anything - he said he got it on the website but I cannot see where he would have picked that up, in any event he is prepared, I am just so scared about the interview part - Please say your prayers for us you guys!

I've never heard of the OF-156. I think he means the DS-156 because that is on the front page of the website and the instructions say that it has to be completed by all non-immigrant applicants. He's got what he needs - try not to worry. It's usually a breeze.

Thanks for the encouragment, I really appreciate the support. He's thru with the medical, they gave him a receipt and said they would send the results to the consulate electronically, I hope that's ok, I read somewhere not to let them do that but he assured me it was ok, I hope so. He's on his way to Banamex now to pay for his interview for tomorrow. - I cannot wait until tomorrow, the suspense is really grueling.
