Thanks, UCLA_cutie, for your kind words and the dancing smiley faces!

I bought our plane tickets today to enter the US. We land in Detroit on June 28th, where I expect we'll spend a week or two visiting my family and friends, and then we'll be heading to Brooklyn where we'll be living and working permanetly. If anyone on this board will be in those two areas, let's get in touch!

Again, thanks to everyone for the tremdous amount of support and encouragement. Beware of Nazi-Man at the Consulate. Try to go in with your Fiance. And the more proof, the better. I'm going to write a long letter to Warren Jansen. I'll post it here when its done.

Our Story:

Jan 2003 moved to Campeche, met Edgar three weeks later

K-1

Dec 2006 filed I-129f

July 12 WE FINALLY GOT MARRIED!!

AOS/EAD/AP:

July 2007 sent in AOS paperwork

Dec 6 CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!

ROC:

Sept 5th 2009 Applied for Removal of Conditions

Sept 14th NOA I-797C

Oct 7th Biometrics Appt

I'm pretty sure that Nazi-man's face will appear in my dreams.

I've stopped calling Edgar because I'm sooooooo damn annoying now. We went a whole two weeks without talking because I knew that I'd just badger him, and sure enough, today all he wanted to talk about was soccer and OF COURSE I had to remind him to get his new passport. And I had to recite the list of paperwork he had to make sure he put in his carryon. I want to smack myself.

Good thing you have a month to enjoy the beach in Playa, Monica. Went to the beach here for the first time in forever, and it was so ugly.

Did your fiances quit their jobs before they left or did they just go to interview without saying anything? I'm worried if Adolfo quits his job and then we are denied, he won't have a job to go back to! Jobs are hard to come by here. (Plus we work at the same place!)

Also, did they take any kind of employment letter to their interviews?

Mexican beneficiaries don't need to prove anything about their employment - only the sponsor (usually the petitioner). I would not recommend quitting a job before the interview - there are too many variables. Not just denial (normally only happens when there is an obvious ineligibility and the beneficiary and petitioner are well aware of this in advance) but also getting stuck in namechecks or being told something is missing from the packet. Honestly I wouldn't buy non-refundable plane tickets or make any set plans - while most people are approved without issue, problems do arise and you just never know.

mine's giving notice as soon as he gets back from Juarez. Of course, none of us have any need for concern as we're all going to be APPROVED :), but it's difficult to quit your job when things are so abstract.

I think also our situation's a bit different. Marco (aka Mr. Stephanie) is flying back home after getting the Visa and then flying to LA about a month (maybe three weeks) later rather than crossing straight from Juarez.

I splurged and got myself a ticket to go see him this weekend before he goes (para darle la bendicion, if you catch my drift) because it really wasn't THAT much more expensive to fly down all of the paperwork myself than it was to send it. (well, that's my story and i'm sticking to it) and I really can't leave work to go to Juarez.

suerte everyone, almost all here on this board will be heading to the consulate this month, yay!!!!!!

suerte for all of us, even though we're shoe-ins :)

Ok Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that they like to see an employment letter so the fiance can prove that they have been living in Mexico. I know, sounds silly. Maybe I just dreamed it up in one my what-if moments. The way I figure it, he would miss at least three days of work and would fired anyhow. So, we HAVE to be approved! lol

Kitkat, you are always so knowledgable and level-headed. You've been a great help to me. Just wanna say 'THANKS!'

We both live in neighboring border towns. But get this! It is 8 hours to drive to El Paso from Del Rio, but it is 24 hours to drive to Juarez from Acuna. Absolutely crazy. I'm not crazy about driving around that long in Mexico and especially having to drive south. I have thought about maybe just meeting him in Juarez and I will drive the US side. My brother will go with me. I also figure it will be cheaper that way because gas is so outrageous and I will have to pay for Mexican insurance. He can take the bus. But then again.....I want to go with him. I haven't decided yet. (I don't even have NOA2!) If he is approved, he will cross in El Paso and then we'll drive back to Del Rio. I'm getting so anxious.

Well thanks for saying that!

I don't have much reason to hang around here these days since we're stuck in the apparently eternal waiver waiting room and it seems like it will centuries before we are ever actually married or filing for AOS. And I'm very fed-up with VJ these days. But I'm hanging around keeping an eye out for you guys - cause my work isn't done until all visas are in hand!!
