question 36 on the DS156 asks if anyone has filed an immigrant petition for you. How do we answer this? I put yes with my name and I129-F but the more I think about it, the more I think that maybe it should be no. Maybe they're referring to in the past?

Can I white out on the form? Shold I generate a new one? Ahhhh!

Referring to the past (check the example forms here). I would start over - doesn't matter how many you end up generating because nothing gets sent electronically to them.

gracias linda! I don't know what any of us would do without you. You should charge us all for the advice!

You must be frantic right about now, TijuanaHilton! Actually, you sound frantic!

I've been getting advice from my students about the paquete latino for cable (and getting rid of cable in English since I barely watch it) and pestering my employer about late enrollments for summer ESL classes! Of course, I get all screechy and neurotic when they comment on how excited I must be....but don't you know this isn't for sure, they could deny him for some pendejada?????? I'm starting to feel like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Oh #######, that reminds me...I have to buy tickets to get us back from the southwest!

People also think I'm a nutjob when I answer their question about the big wedding day: "Oh, I'm thinking sometime the week of June 25th."

Does Adolfo need any kind of employment letter for himself at the interview? I feel like I've read somewhere that they need an employment letter to prove that they've been living in Mexico. I have no idea where I got that idea though.

KitKat,

You're like everyone's big sister here. You really could do something like that. You could probably make a lot of money consulting people and even doing their packets. There are agencies on the web getting rich doing it and from what I've read here on VJ, the only thing lawyers do is mess everything up because they don't know what they're doing. lol

Hey guys,

I know this has been addressed a million times, but I just want to be 100% clear: We don't need an Affidavit of Support (I-134) form but it's good to present at the interview, right?

I just got the official letter in the mail from the bank in which I own my stock (the value is sufficient), so I think we're all set for the interview, paperwork wise. Just want to triple check on the Affidavit of Support form.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Our Story:

Jan 2003 moved to Campeche, met Edgar three weeks later

K-1

Dec 2006 filed I-129f

July 12 WE FINALLY GOT MARRIED!!

AOS/EAD/AP:

July 2007 sent in AOS paperwork

Dec 6 CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!

ROC:

Sept 5th 2009 Applied for Removal of Conditions

Sept 14th NOA I-797C

Oct 7th Biometrics Appt

Another question: is it good to have a set of pictures ready before you get to Juarez, or only take them while you're there? I remember reading that often pictures taken in other places are rejected because they don't fit the criteria or something.

Thanks, ya'll.

update:

fortunately, because I don't have a home phone (just a cell), I couldn't call Juarez obsessively because it's a 900 number. I did email yesterday, and they responded telling me that they've ALREADY SENT OUT MY PACKAGE!!!!! Is this too good to be true? I know there's been talk that no one at Juarez ever knows what they're talking about. I'm going home right now to check the mailbox. :)

Most people have the photos taken in advance - one less thing to worry about there. But it does seem that no matter how absolutely perfect your photos are, they often send the beneficiary out to get new photos (happened to my fiance even though his pictures were the exact size and the same ones we sent with the petition). Seems they have a little scam going with the photo booths there although of course they deny it.

I would not waste your time with the 900 number, ever. They are an outsourced call center and don't always have accurate info. Email is the best way and YES, it's very possible that your packet has been sent. YAY!
