hello DEAR QUORUM..

I've been looking for a response on my case of less than 180 days of overstay to know if I will need to file a waiver.. and I found a great Law forum (free) where moderators and laurel scott respond to most of the questions.. Here is the link, very educational in case you need an answer from a pro.

Link os Laurel Scott threads

http://chat.lawinfo.com/search.php?searchid=19641&pp=25

question: I understand I do not have to sign any of the forms and letter of intent for the interview day.. but Does the USC have to sign the letter of intent? I suppose? is my question silly? jaja

un beso!

Brenda

Brenda, Laurel also has a free chat every Wednesday at 11 DF time -- www.visacentral.net -- you might be able to get your question answered right now or you can do an email consultation with her to get more information and it's not very expensive.

Your fiance should sign th eletter of intent and you can too but the other forms have to be signed in front of the officer.

Buena suerte!

Hey guys!

I am glad to hear everyone's cases are moving along..... We are very happy today, because my fiance has officially submitted our waiver & HSL.... Everything went very smoothly and now we are in the wait for approval.

He said the lady who interviewed him today when he dropped off his information was very nice and only asked him a few questions. The funny thing is that when she asked him what date he was denied entry, he responded Sept 2004. And she said " oh, well my system shows Sept. 2005." So that shows you that their systems are slightly messed up........

Anyways, good luck for all waiting and I am sure everyone's cases will turn out fine! :)

I also wondered where Jamie went..... I hope everything is okay.

Anymore news for those waiting for packets? Other people have been waiting longer than me. :crying: I really want to go in Feb. - or just know WHEN. I guess I should give up on trying to be able to plan my life during this process. At least my guy and I are together (physically) in this.

I did get a short email from CDJ this morning:

"Your fiance's case was received at post, as soon as possible an appointment will be sent."

It was hard to understand it before drinking coffee

but now I think I get the idea: they have my case and I need to just wait.

Good luck to everyone else waiting out there.

Cassandra, I would not be concerned in your case. CJD received your info from the NVC on Dec 27 - right in the middle of the holidays. It normally takes about one month for them to send out the packets so yours should be on its way shortly.

Also, I would pretty much ignore their email - no appointments are sent (obviously) and they are pretty clueless.

Hang tight - it will come!

Well now I am convinced that they lost my case... Cassandra's case was sent to CDJ a month after mine and they got it, but they still don't have mine! :crying: Any ideas on what I should do? I wish I could be with my fiance physically... that would definitely help. Now that they have your case, it shouldn't be much longer for your packet Cassandra!

AgRo, do you have confirmation from the NVC that they sent the case but no confirmation from CDJ that it has been received? I would call the NVC (follow the instructions in the guides or in the NVC forum) and try to get some answers. If that doesn't work, contact your senator's office by using their privacy form on their website under "constitutents service". Download it, write a brief letter stating the situation with all the pertinent information, and fax it. Then call the senator's office to follow up and find out who is assigned to your case and how to reach them. That's about all I can think of other than to let it go for a few more weeks.

ALLIE - Waiting for the GREAT news . . . hope to see your post soon!

Congratulations Allie!!! So exciting to hear that after all this time you have the visa!!

KK - Yes, exactly - confirmation that NVC sent it on Nov 29th, but no confirmation that CDJ received it. All they say is that it has not been received yet and to wait. The NVC says that if the consulate thinks that it has been too long and if the consulate thinks that it is lost in the mail, then the consulate should write a letter to the NVC stating this. The consulate is the key word here, and somehow I don't quite see them taking any action since they just keep telling us to wait 2 more weeks every time we contact them, well each of those 2 weeks has passed and nothing. I think I will wait one more week and then take your advice about contacting the senator. Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I'm still around...I've been putting in some extra time at work because Oliverio's aunt needs surgery on her heart. She goes in for surgery tomorrow so please have her in all of your prayers. He still has not been able to get his Passport because he's been worried about his aunt and all of our extra money is going towards her right now. I will let everyone know how her surgery goes and as soon as Oliveroi gets his paaport we will be back on the road to Juarez. I promise I haven't forgotten about everyone :)

Felicidades!!!! I can imagine how great it feels - I wonder if this moment is actually more exciting for many K-1 people than the actual wedding? Do let us know the details when you're done partying! Oh and also where to go celebrate - there should be a designated destination by now since all the Mexico cases have to go through Juarez!

Hi Everyone-

I just got back from Juarez tonight. Raul got his visa on Tuesday! He is coming on Monday night!!! I will write a somewhat short summary: We went to the medical exam on Monday morning at CMI next to the consulate. Got there about 8:15 am. He was called in right away. The place was packed with people waiting. It was freezing cold and no where to sit. I stood for 2.5 hours before finding a cold place on the floor to sit. He finally came out about 11:30 am. He was upset because the doctor or nurse apparently told him that he had herpes on his back (it turns out that he had a reaction like shingles to a chickenpox vaccination which a doctor stupidly gave him 4 days before this) and he was freaked out. BTW, he told me that he had to strip and the doctor checked him out ALL OVER!! (as in, she touched everything) Anyway, after a sleepless night at the Holiday Inn Lincoln, we got the consulate at 5:15 am on Tuesday morning. There was already a huge line and it was really cold. I am happy, however, that we went so early because he got inside by 6:15 am. I went back to the hotel to wait. He finally called at about 1 pm and said that he had gotten the visa. This is what he told me: He was sent to Building A where he had to wait for a short time until he was called to turn in the documentation. They apparently only asked for the completed forms, my divorce certificate and death certificate for my ex-husband, my tax returns, and his passport. They also took a letter of intent which I had drafted and signed the day before. He was then sent to Building C (I think) and had his fingerprints taken). Later, he was called for his interview. He said the officer was very nice. She only asked him my name, my DOB, what I did for a living, my address, and what he did for a living. She didn't look at any pictures or anything else. They never looked at or took any bank info, paystubs, etc. They returned all of the documents to him except the letter which I had written. The officer congratulated him and sent him to wait for another hour or so for the visa. The person who gave him the visa told him that he was having a reaction to the chickenpox vaccine and that he should seek medical attention in the US if it did not get better in a few weeks - he did not have herpes!!

Good luck to the rest of you and congrats to Allie and Leo!

-jessica
