For our paperwork, I just used paperclips. I am thinking that acco fasteners might not be a good idea.. What if the CO only wants certain paperwork and it's all bound together with acco fasteners? He/she might get a little upset with all the papers put together, since he/she will have to pull it apart to take what they need. That's just what I think

I completed the DS-156 online, so that the barcode prints on it. CDJ really wants the one with the barcode, so make sure you do it online and print it out. Also, I understand about the spanish version converting to ENglish, I tried it also and it does do this. I guess it's because they want it in english. I wanted to send my fiance the spanish version, but he will have to use the english one.

For the DS-156K form, I used the one from VJ. The one from the CDJ website is expired, it expired in like 2004. So I used the current, non-expired form.

Oh and by the way, I have lots of paperwork too, I'm sending my fiance about 75-100 pages of paperwork, So I overdid it also, you're not the only one.

The DS-156K on the CDJ website is still valid assuming there is no updated form (I'm not sure). You can use the Spanish form and apparently you CAN answer in Spanish as this form does not indicate English is required.

The DS-156 can be filled out online with the barcode OR you can use the paper copy in the packet according to the consulate. Since they are not providing instructions to applicants regarding the online form with the barcode, they pretty much have to accept the written copy. Then again, no way to know in reality if they are doing this or not. The DS-156 does need to be in English.

I would just put it all in a manila folder and use a paper clip if need be.

I haven't been here for awhile. I've read some but couldn't remember how to log in. I finally had them send me a new password. They changed things around here though.

My finance will be going for his interview the first week of Janurary. I decided not to go with him but an going to go to Mexico City to be with him for New Years instead. I will take all the papers to him then and go over everything with him so that hopefully he will be able to relax a little.

Hope everything is going well with everyone else. I will have to find the time to go through and catch up.

I'm heading south to spend the holidays with my extended family tomorrow morning, I'll be back home on the 1st. and then will head to CDJ on the 3rd for my interview, I've already bought my ticket!!!!

Just so everyone knows, I mailed my fiance the package of paperwork I had prepared. It was about 100 pages of paperwork (financial info. for myself and co-sponsor, a bunch of extra evidence, the forms he's going to need for his interview) I sent it via global express guaranteed, it cost $42 to send to him and it took 2 days to arrive. I was very happy with the service and I recommend it to any of you guys that need to send stuff to Mexico.

NOw for another question:

I have a question for you guys. This is for those of you that have already gone to Ciudad Juarez (those who flew into CDJ). When you guys went to CDJ, did you guys buy a roundtrip ticket or a one way ticket? My fiance and I are thinking about the better option for him (I won't be going with him ). I'm telling him to fly to CDJ on a Sunday, do medical on MOnday, interview on Tuesday, and have Wed. and Thursday as extra days. I'm telling him to leave Juarez until Thursday evening. He's telling me that I exaggerate and we don't need all those extra days at CDJ and he thinks its best to buy one-way tickets. WHat did you guys do?

Hi UCLA - hope you had a nice xmas. I would definitely leave 1 extra day. That is what we did. We purchased round trip ticket. I guess best answer would be to check out prices and availability for one way vs. roundtrip. Round trip ticket with 1 extra day should be good. When is your fiance heading to CDJ?

16 more days till VISA pick up! Leaving this Friday to spend 5 days with Leo for New Years. Very excited and extremely anxious for Jan 11 to get here. Days seem to get slower and slower.

Cutie, we bought a round trip ticket from Sunday night through Wednesday night. With Mexicana (and most airlines) you can buy a "changeable" ticket and pay a $35 fee to make a change on the return if need be so we had that as an option.
