JessRaul - Our visa pickup appointment is on 1/11. I will be anxiously awaiting outside consulate with my sister. We plan to spend the night in El Paso that night and depart to Nashville on 1/12.

7/19/06: CDJ mails packet

8/02/06: Interview - Visa not recevied - put on AR "false hit" fingersprint check had to be done.

11/15/06: Called DHS to see if they had any info on my case - They advised security cleared in Oct. - now waiting for appt letter from CDJ for Visa Pickup. :)

11/27/06: recvd letter from CDJ - Appointment set for Jan 11, 2007

1/11/07: Visa received!!!!!

4/3/07: NOA1

4/23/07: Biometrics Appt

5/2/07: AOS transferred to CSC

5/21/07: Email from CSC stating AOS pending

Hello Guys..

My fiance is driving me crazy... ( I know Im not the only one!) :crying: He just gave me a letter he received 10 days after the NOA2, maybe is the letter Ucla Cutie was talking about..? It says our case has been fwd to CdJ and has a new CDJ case number .. is that the letter we were talking about..? the one to ask for a copy in the information both?

and I have a question for kitkat or Lucy que ya fueron a CDJ.

Do I need my mexican birth certificate translated and notarized..? if we both are in mexico can we notarize w a mexican notary..? should we go to the american embassy..? :crying:

I sent it months ago to my fiance while he was in NY and he did nothing to it!!!!!!!!!!! I even sent the translation and he forgot.

Please advice..

what other mexican documentation has to be notarized?

Brenda,

The letter your fiance received was from the National Visa Center and it indicated that you case was forwarded to the consulate in CDJ. That is NOT the same as the fiance packet with the letter indicating that you can go for your interview. To be sure, you need to email CDJ and ask if they are ready for you and if you can obtain a copy of the appoitment letter at the information booth.

A copy of the letter is on the link below - it provides instructions for the interview and all the necessary information regarding what you need to bring. Birth Certificates do not need to be notarized. Only the I-134 needs to be notarized.

hi everybody i hope everything goes well with everyone of you, well my fiancee and i just got married today and we applied for a social security card, everything when smoothly , they didnt ask any questions in ths ssc office. next the rest of the paper work ill keep you informed.

Nope, just collect all the info and documents they put on the list, fill out the DS-156 form electronically and head out there :)

Another question,

My appointment letter wasn't signed, it just says

"Sincerely

Chief, Immigrant Visa Branch"

Is this a problem or not?

Ours wasn't signed either, I don't think this would be a problem though.

The packets are duplicates - you can scan and email your letter if you are not going to be there.

Yes, they are the same. My fiance in Mexico didn't get his packet till well after he went for his interview. Just scan her a copy of the appointment letter. Fill out forms (don't forget ones on-line). You are ready to go!! GO! GO! GO! Good Luck at the interview.

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question. The only forms that generate a barcode are the ds-156 forms right? I'm asking cause in a thread here on VJ, someone going through another embassy said they needed to submit the ds-156k forms with the barcode on them. The ds-156k forms I printed out do not show a barcode on them.
