Any other comments about my post regarding the employer letter for my cosponsor, from anyone (especially those that already went to CDJ). Here was my post, so you don't have to go back to look for it:

OKay everyone I have a question to ask. How strict is CDJ with the employer letter? The reason I ask is because my dad (my co-sponsor) is having such a difficult time getting the letter. It turns out that he doesn't have anyone that can provide such a letter where he works. The human resources department is stationed in Pennsylvania, and we live in California. Now, he says that the best he can do is get it from his manager that actually works with him. But the manager is so busy, that he said for me to type it out and print it out and then he will just sign it. Also, he doesn't have a direct line, so the phone number he provides is the phone number of the company. So if the people at Juarez actually call this number, they will not be speaking to anyone who can provide details as to the nature of my dad's employment, my dad's salary or any info. This is sooo terrible, argggggggggggg. WHat should I do everyone? For those of you that have been thru Juarez already, do you think they actually call up the employers to check up? Should I just stick with the letter that the manager can provide and type it out myself and just have him sign it? What would you guys do? This has definately been the most difficult to get!

Anyone please comment on what you think!

They don't always ask for the employer letter - it seems they take what you provide them with - and I highly doubt they actually call employers to verify anything. It's not even one of the items on the OF-167 list of evidence that may be presented to meet the public charge provision. If your dad can provide a letter, submit it. If not, don't worry about it.

Saludos, muchachas(os) - Por fin! The packet finally arrived in the mail today!! Since we will be in Cuernavaca with both of our families for the holidays (Dec.23 - Jan.2), we decided to go to CDJ on January 7. Raul is working so this will allow him to work this month without taking the time off. I hope we will be home together by mid-January. Like everyone else, I am so nervous about the interview although we have so much documentation. I was divorced too and my ex-husband is deceased. I have the divorce decree, custody order, and original death certificate with translation but it makes me nervous- someone posted that they didn't believe the divorce decree was real or something.... any comments? Also, I have a bank letter that says I have 5 accounts and the balance of the main account and the date it was opened (years ago). The bank wouldn't write all the deposits - they said it would be too much work to go through every bank statement. I copied 5 or 6 statements (and attached the original statements), have my tax returns for the past 3 years (I'm self-employed with more than sufficient finances), investment statements, a copy of the deed to my house, a printout of my payment history (I am paid primarily as a consultant to the state and they maintain a payment website), a several "check stubs" - does anyone think I should bring anything else?

I am sooo MAD right now! Oliverio said he went to check on his passport yesterday and the guy said that he needs papers from when he was in school before he can process it any further. What a load of S@$T! It sounds to me like this guys isn't going to give him his passport no matter what. Now he is going to go to Alacupolco to buy his Passport. But now he probably won't get his passport in time to go to Juarez! I knew something else was going to happen I could just scream right now! :crying::crying:

JessRaul,

it looks like you have more than enough as far as financial documentation. They didn't initially want to accept my divorce decree because they didn't know how to interpret it. In Arizona, it is called a dissolution of marriage decree. They wanted it to say final divorce. There are NO divorces in Arizona...just dissolutions. After finally noticing the court stamp and judges signature, they accepted it. Just make sure, it is an ORIGINAL copy certified by the court, otherwise they will not take it. It has to have the courts stamp. Everything I sent were originals. That was very important. Relax..it looks like you are covered and have everything in place!

Brenda,

Would your co-sponsor want to include her tax information if you block out the social security number? That's what I'm doing. I ordered tax transcripts for my co-sponsor (mi papa) and then I blocked out his social sec. number. I hope this won't be a problem. I mean, they can see that his name matches up to all of his other documents. I ordered tax transcripts by mail and it took about 2 weeks to receive. Otra cosa, you don't have to wait until you receive your package in the mail. You can actually use the package that Michael receives in NY. All you really need is the letter from the packet, everything else is useless. Y tambien recuerda that you need to do the online DS-156 form with the barcode imprinted on the forms.

waiting4oliverio,

Tell Oliverio to get his passport somewhere else! The place he went too sounds like they don't want to give it out to him. I don't think you need to show papers of when you were in school. Mi fiance also went to get his passport in November, and it was fairly easy, and he did not need to show papers from school.

Hi again everyone,

Quick question regarding the I-134:

What's your answer for #11, do or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person?

She will be living with me and I'll be supporting her and hopefullt she'll be able to get a good career going to help supplement our income later.

I'm just wondering what they expect to see regarding "specific" contributions?

Thanks again!

~Chris

Brenda, you are NOT going to need to file a waiver. But just in case, here's the best place to read examples and guidelines: http://www.immigrate2us.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=26

I agree with the advice about blocking out the SSN on your sponsor's taxes - it's better to have the tax returns available in case there is a problem. If she really doesn't want to do it, you can always try without it.

Chris, take a look at the example forms here on VJ. I believe it says "do not intend - K1" - that's how I did it. KK

I put room and board cause that is what I read on another thread. Either way, I don't think it matters. I am not sure they even look at that question (my opinion).
