Hi E&K Well it is up to you, we were there at 330 like lucy said she was there at 6 or after, we were out by 130 so i dont care if i would have to be there until 9pm but she got it. i think the sooner the better.

i dont think there is a specific time since visa k1 doesnt have an appointment then they just have to wait until a co can handle the case there were like 3 other visa k1s and they were out before my fiancee, but when she left there there was a girl still waiting for her interview.

This question is for those who have already gone to CDJ? From talking to others who were waiting around, do you guys think that the majority of those being interviewed were for K3 visas? Or was it maybe, half were there for K1 and the other half were there for K3? I was just curious cause it seems like a great deal of those in CDJ, were going for interviews for K3.

I think because I went on the Monday after Thanksgiving and many people were there waiting the long weekend like me, there were more K1's than usual. I personally saw 10 people there for K1. Considering that Fernando told me that once inside they said there were over 500 people, I don't know. I think the majority were K3 because I saw many families with children. Many on a normal workload day, there are not that many K1's. Also it shouldn't be as crowded as on the day that we went. Remember, it was closed Wed. and Friday even though they had announced they would in fact be open. People there even had appointments for those days so I really think it was a backlog day. It shouldn't be that bad any other time. Either way, no regrets here. I am glad we went when we did even though it was a LONGGGGGG day.

I'm so happy for you guguis!

I called the NVC today (I have been for the past few days), and they received my file 11/27 and sent it to CDJ 11/29!!!! I hope it's not too long before my fiance gets the packet!!! :D

I was very surprised to get through to a live person at the NVC... I'm glad I stayed home tonight and called on a Friday night. I'm not sure what was up with their phone system the last few days, but all it would say is that there are a lot of calls, to call back, and goodbye... that's it, there was no way to wait for an operator. Each time I called, no matter what time it was, it would do that, making it impossible to even wait for a live person. Well, today when I called, it actually allowed me to wait instead of hanging up on me. :D

So what is the best way to contact the CDJ consulate to find out if the file is there? phone or email? I know they charge for calls, but do they actually reply to the emails in a timely manner? The guy at the NVC said it was sent electronically and by DHL which in Mexico arrives by regular mail... that may take a while as Mexico has one of the slowest mail systems in the world. I hope getting it electronically is enough to start doing whatever they have to do before sending the packet.

Good luck UCLA cutie, E&K, Jessica and anyone that will be going to CDJ soon!!! I hope all goes well and keep us posted!

This site is helping me be patient and I'm excited about all the progress your cases are making!! I keep sending all of your interview experiences to Roberto, and he's also very grateful.

Saludos para todos! (F)

Agnieszka

The consulate recieved my paperwork October 21st and they have not mailed out my packet and said they have no idea when it will be sent out and to call back in a month because they are very busy. I have called the 900# 15 times and they say the same thing and emailed the same response. Now I am freaking out because alll of you seem to be getting pushed forward so fast. Has anyone else heard of this problem? We have a baby together and have lived together for 2 years. They just killed a police outside our house the other day and I am freaking out and want to leave as soon as possible but I can't get any answers. Congratulations to everyone!! Please let me know if this is just me or what?!

When my fiancée lived here, she had a job and used an alias.

Is living here illegally and working worse then just living here illegally?

If they ask her what she did when she lived here, should she

tell them the truth or should she say she never worked.

Thanks

Illegal employment is forgiven through marriage to a USC. But the alias could present a problem if she used the name of a USC. Bottom line, never lie to immigration - tell the truth or they will find out and it will be a bigger problem in the end because of the lie!

guguis, big congratulations. Glad to hear it went well. I'll add you to the list next time I update it!!!

rubyshoes, AgRo the easiest way to get info from CDJ is to email and then you don't have to pay the 900# fee. But if you read through this thread you'll see that a good portion of the information they provide is incorrect. So if you are unsure, post your question here. When it comes down to when they actually have received your file and when they have sent your packet, sometimes they answer correctly and sometimes they don't so take their info with a grain of salt. Generally it takes about 2 weeks for them to enter the fiance information into their system and 4 weeks for you to review the packet.

I'm off for now -- good luck to everyone!

Hi Rubyshoes-

I think I was having the same problem. They said they received my paperwork on Oct.6 and everytime I callled or emailed they would tell me a different story. One woman even told me that the process would take a year - I was really depressed after that call - then an email saying that they got my file electronically on Oct. 6 and physically on Nov. 10 - and finally last week an email that they had sent out the fiance packet. I haven't received it yet but have hope that I'll receive it soon. I would just keep emailing - they answer in a day or two. Btw, the call center isn't at the consulate - they are somewnere else in Mexico and can only look at a computer screen.

Hey everyone,

Welcome to all of the new members, it seems our group continues growing and growing. I remember in the beginning when it was just about 7 of us going through Juarez, that's great that the group is growing.

Agro & rubyshoes, and all the other recent new members, you guys should definately take the time to read through this entire thread, read through a few pages a day. You guys can find a lot of useful info. throughout the entire CDJ thread, also it will let you get to know us all a bit more. Believe me, each and everyone of us who have received our fiance packet, went through the exact same thing. If you guys read in this thread, you will see about the different useless answers we received when calling or emailing, they definately need to hire some new people.

Louisa, congrats you finally received your fiance packet. My fiance will probably be headed to Juarez in mid or late January, but I won't be going with him. :(

Guguis, I second your idea of keeping in touch for AOS thru this forum.
