Allie, I am soo happy for you and Leo, Congrats, the CDJ girls are beginning to be reunited with their fiance's that's great news. Hopefully when Lucy posts something it's to let us know that Fernando is with her in the U.S.

Now, for an update on my part, I believe I got the fiance packet in the mail today. It was not what I expected (well you really can't expect too much from CDJ). I should have known better, kitkat explained the contents of the fiance packet. It's just that I was expecting some nice fancy letter with Ciudad Juarez letterhead, or something along the lines of the NOA2, with a nice seal on it or something. Well, the so-called "letter" from them is sooo ugly, I could have typed out a nicer one. It states this: This office is pleased to inform you that it can begin to process your fiance visa case. Please read and follow all of the enclosed instructions very carefully. When communicating with this office either by telephone or letter, please provide your name and case number exactly as shown in this letter." Then it states my case number and fiance name. Is this really my fiance packet? I was sort of confused by them saying "it can begin to process your fiance visa case," implying they will begin to process my case, NOT that they are ready for the interview. :help:

THanks girls

Are you saying you did not receive the rest of the contents of the packet? Not that it matters since it's better to get everything online and you only need the letter, but it's strange if they only sent you the letter and nothing more.

Anyway, you're ready to go now!!! When are you planning to be there?

Hope to see a Lucy update in the morning!! :luv:

1) The letter: "This office is pleased to inform you that it can begin to process your fiance visa case. Please read and follow all of the enclosed instructions very carefully". The letter includes his case number.

2) Notice about payment of visa fee at Banamex - same as website

3) Instructions - same as website

4) Evidence to meet the public charge provision - same as website

5) Instructions for medical exam - same as website

6) DS-156 forms - "Solicitud de Visa de no immigrante" same as website, outdated and almost impossible to read

7) DS-156 form supplement "Solicitud de Visa de No-Immigrante para prometido" same as website, outdated and almost impossible to read

8) Letter of intent

Sorry kitkat, I tend to be confusing sometimes, I did get the entire packet, everything you listed I received from them (of course slightly in a different order). I see what you mean with the forms, they are REALLY terrible, I will definately use the ones online. My fiance will be going until January for the interview, that gives me about a month to get all of the paperwork, I've been kind of putting it off. :P

I had another question for you, on one of the forms , DS 156, it asks for the national identification number. Is that the same as the CURP? I remembered you said something about a post you made on i2us, and I actually looked for your post on that site, but couldn't find it. My fiance told me about something called the CURP that is used in Mexico and I was wondering if it's the same as the national identification number.

Hola!

Congrats UCLA on getting your packet! We both had nice surprises in the mail yesterday.

I received an email this morning from my mailman at work. He attached a song. He heard it on the radio and thought of me. Girl falling for a boy in Mexico. I thought you girls should hear it. It is really cute.

Name of song is Que Te Quiero by Katrina & The Waves. If you want to PM me and give me your email address I will forward it to you.

I booked all flights last night. Just have to book hotel in CDJ. I hope the next 6 weeks flys by.

Ok Ladies,

Here it goes:

First and foremost.....HE IS HERE WITH ME!!!

The day was long...we got there at about 6:30. He was let in around 7:30. I waited outside across the street the entire day...no where to sit, but plenty of company.

I could hear names being called to various windows. I saw several people come out and needed retakes of pictures. At about noon the first to come out was the fiance of girl from Ohio. He was noticeably upset and she said he was denied. They immediately got in a taxi and left. At about 1 a girl came out, she was approved and asked to return in an hour to pickup her packet. Then at 2 two other gentlemen came out...both denied. Talk about panic...I was with a group of 5 gentlemen who were also waiting for their fiances. One of the girls came out and asked him in. They were in for about an hour. He came out very upset and she was crying...denied. He didn't want to talk about it. THey just left. I saw more denials than approvals. By 3 o'clock I was really nervous. It was either a good thing or a bad thing that he was still in there.

He came out with a big smile on his face at 3:30. I knew immediately that he was approved. We immediately headed for the border. They have to go in if they cross in El Paso. I was also asked to go in with him. Twice he was asked by the customs if I was there with him. He pointed me out several times.

As for his interview and documents, this was strange. He was NOT asked for a single document of financial support. He brought back ALL my paystubs, W2's, tax forms....EVERYTHING! They didn't look at a single thing. They were more concerned with my divorce decree and birth certificates. I included mine, just in case and they took it. He had his birth certificate along with several documents to show he was actually in Mexico. They didn't look or ask him about his stay in the US or if he returned in time. He said they did ask him twice if he had ever been denied a visa. He answered yes because he was denied a tourist visa. They asked if he had ever been refused entry..again no. They didn't ask if he overstayed his visa or anything of the sort.

The second person who interviewed him ....asked:

1. How and when we met

2. If he had met my family

3. If I had met his family

4. Our ages and birthdates

5. Again how and when we met (total of 3 times)

6. If he had pictures

He said she was rude. He showed her a photo album and she said she was not going to take the time to go through it for him to take 1 photo at random for every page and hand them to her. SHe looked for dates behind photos and asked for timelines. She asked when and where photos were taken. He took receipts for trips, phone bills, bank and credit statements for purchases while visiting him....NOTHING! She was not interested in those items.

She told him to sit down and his name would be called again. He didn't know if he was approved or not. She never told him. Later they called him to another window and they handed him the packet.

It was a very nerve wrecking experience. Of the nine of us who were there for fiance visas, I saw 4 denials...2 were still waiting when I left so I don't know what happened. It was very strange. If any of you have any specific questions, I will ask him when I get home...It's great to think he is waiting for me at home now. It's a great feeling. Oh yeah, there was one girl who asked for a waiver and she was told that she would get it in about 6 months.

We flew in on a red eye at 1 am. So my honey is asleep as I am here at work. Again, I will be more than happy to ask him more specific questions if any of you has any. I think he just told me what he could think of on the spot.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and warm wishes....It has certainly paid off!!!

THANK YOU LADIES!! We are planning our wedding ceremony for Dec. 27 in Las Vegas. He wants an Elvis wedding  Since this is his first wedding, I guess I can do that for him. Again thank you all for the tremendous support. I felt better prepared than most who were there simply due to this forum. It was amazing to hear how many people go blindly to their interviews. They simply went by the instructions sent to them in their packets, and we all know how reliable that info. is...

I may be wrong, but I think many of those denials were due to lack of evidence or documentation. I overheard some of the people there and they didn't seem prepared. Some even say they didn't bring anything other than the forms sent to them filled in by hand. Definitely fill in the online forms. They took those from him first. Those were actually the MOST important. The other people there that were denied were so upset that they didn't share what happened. I wish I knew so that I could relay, but in my opinion because two left exited within a few hours they probably didn't have correct forms. I heard one of the others talk about an overstay that wasn't stated, but YES it was very scary to hear people and to see several people come out crying.

Lucy I'm sure you're right. Since the CDJ Fiance packet doesn't even include the correct forms and there is no information in the packet about the required DS-156 online form with bar code, it's most likely that those people were denied for having incorrect/incomplete forms and will have to return at a later date. It's insane that the consulate pretty much sets people up to fail. Then again I'm sure there are people who don't understand the impact of an overstay or tried lying and didn't realize CDJ would know the truth. Glad none of that ####### happened to you two!!!!

Hey girls,

I don't know if any of you noticed, but it seems they updated the CDJ website, it looks a bit different. Also, they added a notice concerning vaccination requirements. Just thought I would share this info. since several of us are headed to Juarez. But the funny thing is, that it's only available if you read through the spanish version of the website, how strange. Here is the link http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwfcdj439.pdf

but the info. about vaccines comes in english and spanish.

Hmmm - doesn't seem to be new information since the date on the bottom says September 2005 which is when the vaccination requirements apparently went into effect. But I guess it's new to being actually posted on their site. Either way, it's in reference to IMMIGRANT visas - not K1s. Vaccinations are not necessary for K1s until AOS in the US - this has not changed.
