Another question, what time did people get in line for the medical?

Hello,

I waited outside like an hour until they open, then inside another 3 hours.

Does Ciudad Juarez send out a packet3 or not? If they send it, is it by courier, guaranteed to be delivered or sent regular mail in Mexico. I hope not the latter. I received the NVC notice on March 24th 2010 and we haven't heard a single thing from anybody since then. Any way of contacting someone without going through the crazy 900 numbers or buying a pin for $26??? We're beginning to get frustrated and have seen timelines similar to ours with interviews scheduled or completed. Thanks.

Hi,

Supposed to but I've never heard about somebody getting that in Mexico, in my case my husband got it in US.

He received it on may but was dated on march.

Unfotunately there's no other way to find out what's going on, you need to call Juarez.

Remember that every single case is different, I understand your feelings because I was facing the same situation ... hang on there you will get news soon!

They mailed me (in the us) a one page letter. The letter says to go here for instructions/forms:

http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html

About 3or4 weeks later my fiance(in Mexico) received the same letter.

You need the letter when you go to Juarez.

edit: it was sent regular mail

Hey Douglas1, my fiance and I are about 3 weeks behind you...the packet was sent to Juarez on 04/24 so I'm expecting to receive the appointment letter in early June. Could you do me a big favor and maybe when you guys get home, have your fiance type up her experiences of the medical exam and the interview in Spanish? I would like to share as many experiences with my fiance so she has a better understanding of what to expect. I've already sent her a few I've found in the early pages of this thread; however, a current, up-to-date experience would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck in a couple weeks!

Bryan

Just updating...I received at my home in the U.S. the Open Appointment letter for my fiancee on May 21. It was dated Apr 27 and postmarked May 19 from El Paso. To avoid the busiest day, we're planning on traveling on Mon Jun 14, doing the medical on Tues and the interview on Wed. Hopefully we can leave Thursday. Gabriela will probably pay the Banamex fee before we get to CDJ, so we can avoid the back there. You can pay the fee at any Banamex in Mexico. She checked. We'll let you know how it goes.

Hello, I have a few questions about the interview in Ciudad Juarez. I recently receive a letter staying that the consulate could start the visa process. What I do not understand is that it does not give me a actual date for my appointment rather says is a OPEN appointment which totally throw me out off guard. I was waiting for a actual date. I hired a lawyer since I started all this process and he has no idea what to tell me! :( So i am confused. Also, my fiance does not know what to expect he has not received anything in the mail and I truly do not know if he will receive the same letter I got. Also in the medical examination is my fiance going to have to wait days to receive the results or is all the same day. Does he needs fingerprints or that is until he comes in the USA... Can I go with him to the interview or they won't let me in? We have a 6 month daughter do we need a DNA test is it required? If he does get his visa will it he get it in the same day? This is hard because he lives in Baja California and he is coming all the way to Juarez, we need to have a time frame of how many days he will stay there. Thank you and I hope to here from you all!!

Hola, Claudia -- there's a huge thread about the Cd. Juarez consulate in the Latin American regional subforum. I've asked the moderators to transfer your question there. Meanwhile, you can read that thread and likely find your answers. :)

Edited to add: Check the Embassy/Consulate forum first! The thread is likely there.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Claudia,

Open appointment letter means that you can go any day you want at the specific hour it says, normally is 8:00 to 10:00 am ... that is the way it works in Juarez for K-1 visas. I traveled to Juarez one month after my husband got the letter in US.

Yes, the medical results are the same day from 2:00 to 4:00 pm so you can not do the medical and the interview same day. Once you get in the consulate he will be called to take the fingerprints and the officer will request all your forms then he will wait to the next officer for the interview. You can go with him if you want but you will have to wait outside. Once your visa is approved you will have to wait until is ready thought one of the 2 DHL offices Juarez.

I'm not sure about your daughter's DNA test ... Did she born in US? I guess you just need her birth certificate.

Read page 267 there is my experience.

I know it sounds difficult but it isn't ... ;)

Hope this helps, if you have more questions feel free to ask!

So, it was a big surprise but in our case they did not ask for any additional proof of a relationship! (But I would advise to bring yours in case at your interview they do ask for proof)

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express (free breakfast, free DHL shuttle, pool, exercise room, computers with internet in lobby, free copies & printing) and both medical exam locations and the consulate were no more then a 5 minute walk away. Also very close was a mall (w/Banamex and movie theater), bowling alley, restaurants, photos/printer/fax stores, City Junior hotel, Quality inn, Microtel hotel.

She arrived at Clinica Medica Internacional at 5:45am and walked right in. I went back to the hotel to wait for her. She was the 51st person to arrive. They did the following: blood test, eye sight test, chest xray, checkup type exam, no vaccines, no psychological test, no urine test, but asked about het tattoo, piercings, medical history, drugs, convictions, police problems. She was back at the hotel at 8:00am, and was told to go back to pick up results at 2:00pm. We went back at 2 and she went in a side entrance. At 2:15 I saw her come back out and then into the front door. They closed the side entrance at 2:20 so I would advise getting there right at 2pm. A little after 3 she came back out. She actually did need the urine test and luckily was able to get that done and she now had her sealed results and xray cd.

The following day she got in the consulate line at 7:15am (our appointment letter said 8am to 10am) And I went back to the hotel to wait for her. She went to three windows total with a lot of waiting in-between. The 1st window took her documentation and asked several simple questions like where is your fiancee and what do you do (job). The second window took her finger prints. The 3rd window was the consul and he looked through our documents she handed over earlier at the 1st window (and our I-129F) and asked:

Where is your fiancee?

Where did you meet?

Where do you plan to live in the US?

What were you doing in the states before? (when we meet)

Where were these pictures taken? (he had the pictures sent in with the I-129F)

Do you have a warm jacket?

Her: yes........

Consul: Good because you will need it when you move to New York, congratulations your visa is approved

Then she went to the DHL area to pay for the shipment of the Visa. The only option is to have it delivered to the DHL office in Juarez and she was told it could take 1 to 4 business days. So DO NOT plan to leave Juarez the day of your interview! She was given a DHL tracking number and was back at the hotel at 11:00.

We checked the DHL website many times and was happily surprised at 2:30pm the following day it showed it was delivered at 1:30! We finished lunch and headed back to the hotel and caught the free 4pm shuttle to the DHL office which was about 15 or 20 minutes away. We feel very lucky everything went smoothly and quickly!

Note: The medical fee and banamex were required to be paid at a certain amount in pesos and in both cases was higher then listed. The Medical fee converted back to dollars was $184 and at banamex I ended up paying $142 dollars.

Any questions, just send me a message.
