Ok, so it has been awhile since I posted sorry. He is finally here with me and we are starting the next step. This thread seems like it is dying, so sad.

hi everyone!

My fiance and I filed our k-1 in September! we are still waiting for our NOA2. I am trying to do what ever I can to prepare us for the next steps. Is there anything specific to CJ that I need to know. He's never been in the US and has no criminal record. We've been together for 2 years and have a 13 mo old child that was born in San Cristobal, Mexico. I feel like we have a solid case but you never know. Please share any advice :)

You don't need a physical, but you DO need either the vaccinations or proof of having had them. There's a thread on here about a doctor in Texas that will convert the information onto the correct form for around 20 bucks, but darned if I remember who or where!

I know this is not something you guys are thinking about at this point but TRY to get a copy of your physical to carry with you from Juarez. The ONE Civil surgeon withing hours of here is making Roberto pay again for another physical. They insist that they will not fill out his records for AOS unless he has it redone. I have seen several forums on VJ that talk about the Civil Surgeons so it is not uncommon for them to ask that you do it again even though USCIS does not require two physicals. It is costing us another $300.00 and two days of tests and shots.

If you haven't already done this, there are doctors that will sign you off after seeing your documentation, and you don't have to get more tests/shots. There's a thread on here about it..... we sent off to one in Texas. I wish I remembered who, but it's been quite a while. I got the infohere on vj, though

Hi All;

Well we have 2 more months to wait until we can call for our 2nd interview - that was a long 2.5 year wait - *phew* but we are still together amazingly. I hope everything goes ok this time. I have to call January 2nd for a new interview, does anyone have an idea of how long the backup is when you call in for a new appt? This is for the K-1 fiance visa.

Janet, I can't believe it's almost time! For you I'm sure these 2.5 years have been excruciating, but I feel like they've flown by! You guys are amazing! I just know that if we'd had to wait to years we would have been done. Congratulations on lasting and getting ready to refile. I hope your next journey moves MUCH more smoothly!

Quick question -

Is my fiance required to have her vaccinations complete prior to the medical (k1 visa)? Or are they even required?

I am a little confused...and we are going to Juarez in one week.

No vaccinatios required for a K-1 visa process ... ;)

Let us know how is everything going!

Hi all,

I'm new around here, just figuring out all this visa stuff. I just sent in the I-129F. My fiance is Mexican, we met almost 2 years ago when I was teaching english in Mexico. In July we had a baby girl. (Unfortunately, since I had the baby in the U.S. he wasn't able to be at her birth. He has mostly just seen her on webcam. We did go visit him in Mexico for a month, which was nice.) I'm hoping that I don't screw any of this up and delay what seems like an already long process. Everything is confusing to me, and in my opinion, gov websites aren't always the easiest to understand.

Anyway, I'm looking at all the documents he will need when he goes to the interview in Juarez. Does he need a police certificate? Im reading here (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#Vaccination) that he does. Then on the Juarez website the document cdj-400 (instructions for interview) doesn't ask for a police certificate.

So does he need one? And at what level? He told me he can get a city, state or federal certificate.
