Hello!!

I'm here :D

Dress comfortable for your medical and some recommend dress "kind of formal" to the interview ... some Officers really look at your clothes.

How are you guys going with your trip??

:star:

Isi,

How do you like your new home so far?

Sandi,

We decided to take the bus that way we could leave Juarez as soon as we get the visa. I am leaving to Mexico on the 7th and we plan on going to Juarez on the 16th. I am driving down there to pick up the rest of my stuff, my SO and my dog. In March I moved down there with him so we could be together while I took a little break from school. I am hoping to get the green light from Juarez in October, but you never know. We decided to just take the bus because of the uncertainly and I have never traveled on one so I said what the heck I'll try it.

Although I have a feeling that if I don't like the bus then I will be returning to Queretaro by plane LOL...

Andrea

Thanks Andrea, I'm doing great ... getting used to this crazy and super super cold weather!!

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that my SO and I went to Juarez without the appt letter. I called on Friday Sept 18th and they said they finished processing our paperwork and that they would send a copy to my attorney etc. I repeated what she said just to make sure I had heard correctley and she said yes, you can come to Juarez. So I hopped on the bus and left for Mexico on Friday. We letf from Monterrey on Saturday night and arrived on Sunday afternoon. We checked into the hotel and around 6:30 the next morning we left for the information window at the consulate. I was so nervous that the trip would be for nothing. That they would tell us...sorry you need to wait til the appt letter is mailed to you. But no, they gave us a copy. I don't know why more people have not done this. it was such a relief and I was so excited :)

Hope this makes the wait a little shorter and best of luck to everyone :)

You guys were very brave to do that I think!!! :)

We are just waiting for the letter to come in...or at least I will call today to see if Juarez has finished processing..

I will keep updating this.....it is very interesting, but we hate to wait.

Chinman how long did it take for the letter to be delivered to your US address? in other words from when the consulate sent it to when you got it in the mail.

I dont think we want to go to Juarez if they say it is still processing........if they say "no" once there.....I would probably die if i say goodbye to my fiancee for the 5th time.....it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your support guys!!

Ernesto

We were both just so anxious already :)

I called Juarez today,

And they informed me that our case is STILL PROCESSING :(

But how? why? it is almost a month (1 month in October 16th)

I might try to call next week again, I guess.....getting desperate here :(

Don't worry it will happen when you least expect it

After receiving the visa and going to the bridge, do they have to cross over? Or do they just get the stamp and can go back to their house for their things and cross say in Laredo?

When I called Juarez, I asked them the question about what PoE would be once visa is received......all I got was that the officer will give you instructions if any once you get the visa....now it is immigration's problem to deal with.

Hope that helps....that is what I was told.

My understanding is that you don't need to stamp anything right after you get your K-1 visa, once you get it you have 6 months to cross at any POE you want and only then your visa and the DO NOT OPEN yellow envelope (that came with your visa) will be stamped.

That is my understanding too. We hope that Roberto gets the visa by the end of this week but he will not come to the US for several more weeks. So he is not going to the bridge.

I have heard some people are allowed to go in with their SO to the consulate. I am going to wait in line and ask if I can go. When we arrive I assume I can't have a cell phone or any other electronic device with me. I wasn't even going to take a purse. Are there things they won't let me take in that I might not have considered? Right now that "page is not available" on the CDJ website: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/recommendations2.html

If they say I can't go in I'll just go back to the Holiday Inn and wait.

Ah but it is available in Spanish:

Ernesto,

NVC told me the same thing two days before we were approved. I guess they don't need the paper copy to be able to complete processing.

Not only that but the day after NVC said they mailed the package I tracked the package from NVC via DHL to CDJ and it weighed several pounds and was received four days after it was sent out from NVC. I don't imagine "electronic files" weight that much. Nonetheless NVC said it was not received even though I saw a signature for it on the DHL website. When I mentioned all of this to the NVC they got pretty grumpy. Turns out it didn't matter and we were approved a few days later.

Ernesto,

I am still waiting for Juarez to process my packet as well. I figured 4-5 weeks should be plenty of time before I start bugging them. I read this has happened to many people NVC says one thing and Juarez says another. Try to be patient and you will receive your notice soon. Maybe we will end up in Juarez during the same time.

Genny,

GOOD LUCK. You and Roberto are in my prayers. Keep us updated.

It is my understanding as well. You should only get your visa stamped if you are READY to use your visa. If you do not plan on use your visa right away then the bridge information does not pertain to you. Once we receive ours (hopefully soon) we will go back to his hometown for a week and then enter through Laredo. Hope this helps

Hello Everyone:

We are supposed to call for our new appt in January, does anyone know how long of a backup there is for the Fiance Visa when you are returning after a 3 year ban? If not, is there any way to find out this information?

Thanks,

J&E

Janet, I am sorry I really don't have an answer for you. Most k-1's are taking about 4-5 weeks to get processed at Juarez. I remember reading your story. I am so sorry and I wish you the best of luck.
