I just called NVC and they said my petition was sent to Juarez on September 17th. I have been reading here on the Juarez thread and I notice most people are still waiting to hear from them. Does anyone know what is going on?

I guess it is just taking time to get through the processing down there. Mine was received on August 31st and haven't heard anything. Genny has been waiting over a month...nada. I have read that it is taking somewhere between 6-8 weeks.

Thanks!

I thought the long months of waiting were over after we received our I-129 approval. I have a question regarding the financial support documents. Do we use the I-824 to make things easier?

I called Juarez earlier and they told me that it is going to take up to two months.... she did tell me to call back the first part of October to see how things were going...hopefully soon for us too.

Who did you call this time to get this info?

Sandi,

YEAH! I know we are so excited! At first I called NVC and they said that packet 3 has been sent out. I called Juarez to confirm and they said yes it has been sent out. We are so so happy.

Did you ask them if they sent the paperwork to both of you? I am really curious about that. The 202 number for NVC? And they actually helped...wow.

I am so happy for you guys!!! Gosh...keep us updated! You'll be through it all before us now!

They did confirm that they sent the letter to his address as well as to mine on September 18th only one month and a day after it arrived in Juarez.

On your timeline it says consulate recieved on 8/20. Is that via DHL...or when they started on the file? If it's from the DHL delivery date that's less than a month!

You are right Chinman. I tracked the DHL package and it arrived on the 20th. Juarez told me they received it from NVC on the 17th. And NVC told me it left on the 17th. I think those three days are the difference in my case between electronic and actual files being sent. One way or another it only took about a month and I am so thrilled. Everything else took a bit longer than expected but this step went faster.

Good to see you here! So first question that I have is...How long before you received your letter from Juarez?

I would say 4 and half months according to the dates on NOAS but don't know why our open apointment letter was dated on March 27th and we got it one month later ... that is why some people recommend calling the consulate 2 or 3 weeks after NVC send the case to Juarez ... if you call and they give green light and say that you are able to go doesn't matter if you don't have the open apointment letter ... people at Consulate will provide you one before get in BUT IS VERY IMPORTANT CALL FIRST.

I called and they said I was able to go ... we were planning my trip and 2 days after my bf got the letter.
