Ok...so I know that the NVC sent my package on the 26th of August and it was Recvd on the 31st, according to DHL. It's now September 14th and when I call the State Dept it still shows "in transit". However I think the lady was clueless, she said it's an electronic file that is in transit and they haven't opened it yet to register it in the system.

If it's an electronic packet why is it sent by DHL? This is really dissapointing that it's been 2 weeks and they haven't ever "received" it yet. Whether that means physically or electronically.

I put in a second call to my Congressman, I hope they can help.

That is exactly what NVC told me too. I called Juarez and they said they had rec'd it and were processing it. I don't konw how long it takes to update with NVC.

i hope you guys remember that today is a mexican holiday, the also had a 3 day weekend the 7th of september ,so thats 2 weeks in a row that they've worked only 4 days. that may explain why they are getting backed up. just hang in there, your file is at the consulate now, the wait is a lot shorter. Good luck!

Oh good thanks for reminding me of that too. I was getting ready to call the State Dept again but obviously there would be no change from yesterday since today is a holiday.

Ok. So finally I found someone at the 202-663-1225 number to give me an explanation. You literally get a different answer each time you call. She did explain to me though that the NVC sends both electronically and physically.

CDJ has received the electronic file, and the physical file, but they don't start until someone "touches" the physical file. And that hasn't been done yet. So it's still a matter of waiting. However, once I call and they say they've "loaded, or received" the physical file, that will mean they've actually started on it.

Anyone else at this same stage?

Well they have it physically, and electronically but they haven't "technically" recieved the paper packet into their system even though it has been delivered. Once they pick up the file and begin to process it, they will enter into the system (receive it).

So today if I call they will tell me that CDJ hasn't received it yet. On the day when I call and they have received it, I would assume that means they've started working on it.

I just got off the phone with NVC (the past two times I have called they YELL at me from the beginning of the conversation until the end). I am always calm and very polite with them. The person who answered the phone this time said my case has not been received in Juarez, my senator's office said it has and every single time I have called the State Department in the past they have told me it has. When I asked the person on the phone to explain the discrepancy she said, "why don't you ask your senator?". I said that I had asked my senator, then she got angry and hung up on me. I waited on the line and she eventually answered her phone again. I said we must have been disconnected. She said I TOLD YOU YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR SENATOR!

So I am not sure why every other day the State Department has said that my case arrived in Juarez on the 20th of Aug and today they said it has not arrived. I am going to call Juarez and spend the $7.00 which I haven't done yet.

I am not sure why some people on the phone at the state department are so rude especially when they should know that they are talking to people that are separated from their loved ones.

I can't believe that this part of the process has to be so damned difficult. Everytime you call you get a different answer...I mean come on either they have it or they don't. I understand that it takes time, but I thought once you got past NVC it was a downward hill. Hmmm....I am just hoping this part of the process doesn't take months. I know that most of us what to be in Juarez early to mid October.

I called Juarez this afternoon and they said they received our applicaiton on the 17th of August. They said that packet 3 and the letter will be mailed out to us on the 17th of October and that currently processing is taking 2 months. Not sure that is true but that was what they said.

Are you serious? 2 months!!!! That is sooo long. So does that mean that they have finished processing it? Bc once that is done then you can go and ask for teh appt letter. hhhhmmm...

this is frustrating and everytime I've called NVC they have been rude to me too.

And them being rude to us doesn't help

200 days of waiting! Roberto and I are getting anxious. We keep talking about taking a trip to see each other before we go to Juarez. If we had the money we would. It has been a really long hard wait. I have mixed feelings about hearing from Juarez yesterday that it will be another month until they process the visa. On the one hand we have waited so long that one more month is nothing but on the other hand I really thought it would be sooner. In the best case scenario the notice will come early and I can still go during Fall break Oct 15-19. If the notice comes on the 17th like the immigration officer said then I will have to miss work. My department chair knows I would have to miss class so I guess it would be no big deal but I sure wish we could make some plans.

Most people have simply stopped asking me if we heard anything yet. It does make me so happy when I log onto visa journey and see someone has written something in the Juarez forum though :)

I would hope that the 2 months that they told you is their internal goal....much like the CSC stated all along that it was 5 months, but I got my NOA2 in like 3.5 months. Stay optimistic!!!!
