Bad news for us -- they told my fiancee she needs to apply for a waiver. Does anyone have any experience with this?

pgp why did they tell you file for a waiver? Was your partner in the states illegally or something?

I did a search for you about waivers and this is all I could come up with that had any helpful info. It is very limited but its all I could fund

PGP, I am SO SORRY to hear about this situation!!! What was the reasonings??? Dont get to deflated in your attempt! MOst waivers still give you an ample chance of proving that there was a legitimate reason for them to still look at an approval. Best of luck, stay positive!!!

Just a little update.... We arrived in Phoenix on Thursday EARLY morning (5-28-2009). Spent the most part of Thurs around the house just getting her and her son settled in... Friday was spent around the pool almost all day!!! HAHAHA! Took them to San Diego for a little Sea World weekend for the 1st weekend here.... And now they are back and just trying to familiarize themselves with Arizona. We need a week off!!!!

Good Luck to all going thru the same process, stress and time this week. I only hope you all can have the same results as we have. BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

Hello everyone! Finally the moment for my medicals and interview is almost here and I would like to double-check some things.

1) What will I have to bring with me to the medicals????

2) From your experience, is there any specific order for the documents I'm bringing to the Consulate?

3) Will my son be asked any questions during the interview?

4) Is the visa delivery still taking about a day?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Most importantly is your passports. This is vital for all of your interviews... As far as order of paperwork for your interview there is nothing specific. Just make sure you have everything in duplicates, make sure you have your birth certificates, make sure you have everything for your son also filled out in duplicates. Pay your application fee's the day before and go into your interview with a clear mind and confidence brewing!!!

During the Medical Exam they will ask him some questions, but they shouldn't have to ask him anything during the Consular Interview.

Delivery for most instances is about a day now, so you should have the same.

MOST importantly, STAY CALM!!!!! Check your paperwork, believe in what you are doing and stay positive!!!! You will be fine, the interview will go GREAT!!!! The confidence you have now will help you with the interview. Best of luck!!!

Thanks so much JustD. I'll take on count every word you wrote. I'm getting a lot more nervous as the moment approaches but I will certainly try to keep your words in mind as I wait for the interview.

I'll make sure I have everything you've just mentioned in my suitcase for the big day!

Thanks again! You're GREAT!!!!

Anyone have any experience shipping a box of personal things(clothing, toys) from Mexico to the US? Approximate costs(I know that FedEx and DHL are expensive and I'm not sure if I trust the Mexican postal service) or anything special that has to be done to clear US customs? We are leaving in 11 days and I don't think we can fit everything we want to take into a few suitcases. Any advice would be great. Thanks

I only have experience with DHL and Fedex, but those were for shipping small boxes, like gifts.

My fiance is in the consulate right now, and has been there for 5 hours. The police out front say its a long process which takes about 6-8 hours because there are several interviews that must take place. Does this sound right?

AVER, My fiancee and her daughter has been there since a little before 8 AM this morning. The guard outside said 3 to 5 hours. It has been 5-1/2 hours for her so far. I dont know if the 3 to 5 hours is from the time they are allowed inside or for the interview process. All we can do is wait. Yes I am a little worried.

She went in around 8 also. I'm hoping the long wait is some kind of good sign. I'm worried in Iraq, her friend waiting outside is worried, and her friend in cuernavaca is worried. She had to do extra medical tests, adding 2 days. So she can't wait to get out of Juarez. Good luck on your case.
