Thanks fo the quick reply!

I plan to submit originals and copies for evryhting, except I have two concerns.

1. Tax forms - it makes me nervous to provide any originals I can't easily replace if lost.

2. Paystubs & W-2's: for the past 2 years all my paystubs and W-2s have been provided to me in electronic version ONLY, so that's all I can provide is printed copies of them and I pray that will suffice.

Does anybody have any experience in either of these situations?

Thanks again!

~Chris

You don't need to provide originals of tax returns. One easy thing is to just order tax transcripts from the IRS and use those. http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html

I attached a copy of my W2s (I don't see any reason why they would need the original and I want the originals myself).

For the paystub, if you only have electronic, then print and submit those. I doubt it will be an issue - they don't seem to be all that picky with these types of things and I only gave one original (which I wasn't happen about).

congrats to Allie! I can imagine how happy you are to have this process finally be over. I'm going crazy. I got another email from CDJ today apologizing for the email yesterday and saying that they physically received the file on NOVEMBER 10...I can't believe it. I wrote back and said that now I was really confused since I have the NVC letter and confirmed with the consulate 5 times that they received the case on October 10....I confirmed that several times in October...If they hadn't received it until 11/10, I wouldn't have even been in the system, right? Anyway, I also called them again because I was so upset. The guy said that he didn't know why I received the emails and that the computer clearly states that they received the case on October 6...of course, he couldn't tell me when they would send the packet except "any time now". Why do you all think about this and what would you do, if anything? Should I just stop communicating with them and try not to think about..just think about spending the December holidays with my honey?

Right - if you use the I-134, it should be notarized.

One copy of all documents but Allie said they wanted a few original pay stubs - I included one original. I think I gave them copies of everything else and kept originals for me. Apparently they never asked for any originals or additional paycheck stubs.

Exactly. They don't know right from left. Ignore them and hang tight - it will come!

On October 30th I received an email from CDJ: "Hello: This case has just been received and will be processed in the next few days. As soon as we process it we will mail a packet with forms and instructions."

Today I received the following reply after requesting and update: "Hello: We have not sent the K1 packet yet, as soon as the case is processed we will mail the packet."

IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS? I wish I could do that on my job, tell the client they;ll have it in the next few days, and two weeks later say I still haven't got around to it.

Hi JessRaul!

When did you first get a CDJ Case Number? I assume October 10, correct?

As if CSC wasn't frustrating enough, this is even more so.

Ignore them. They consistently provide incorrect information - read JessRaul's post. I have never received a clear, accurate answer from them.

It will come - hang in there. In the meantime, you can prepare all the forms on their website and if you are ready to go to CDJ, just confirm that the case has been processed, they are ready for the interview, and get the official appt letter at the information booth.

Kitkat - thanks for the words of support - they help and I will try to ignore the correspondence and wait it out for a bit - dzy88p, I got the case number when NVC got the case at the beginning of October - I think it was in the letter from VSC if I remember correctly. I think you should take Kitkat's advice too because the info from CDJ is illogical, it seems.

Hey guys,

I have another quick thing to add about CDJ. So, I also e-mailed them to check if they have my paperwork from the NVC yet. I realized that I had to send an email that was fairly short and simple. I asked them "Have you received my packet from the NVC for my approved K-1 VISA?" then included case number, fiance name, and my name. Well, I actually got a quick response, in 1 day. They sent me 3 emails, eventhough I only sent them one. This is what they answered me "This case has just been received and will processed in the next few weeks. As soon as it is processed we will mail a packet with forms and instructions. Please contact us again in six weeks. The second email said this, "This case has just been received and it will be processed in the next few weeks. Please contact us again in six weeks to find out it we have sent the K1 packet." The last email said this, "A reply has been sent separately." I don't know why they sent me 3 e-mails though. Anyway, I'm glad I know how "helpful" their response is, thanks to you guys or then I would be worried now. I'm just hoping I receive my packet within the next month. :D

I am putting a box of gifts together for Oliverio to take back with him to his family after his interview. I was wondering what kind of stuff kids in Mexico like. I asked Oliverio and he says they like anything but I was aiming for specifics! I know his 15 yr old sister likes writing, books and wants to come to the US to go to college so I got her a journal, some neat pens, some books in spanish and an English-Spanish Translation book but I'm clueless with the other kids. There's another girl (12) and 3 boys (16, 13 and 10) Does anyone have any suggestions?

JessRaul,

When I filed my petition back in July, CSC gave me a case number that I tracked online, but on when it was forwarded to the consulate, they assigned it a new case number, beginning with CDJnnnn.

So that's why I asked, do you have that new number to verify when you got in CDJ's system?

Hi Dzy88-

Yes, I got a CDJ # from the NVC. I think I called them a few days after I got the approval from VSC and they gave me it over the phone - I'm not positive - I definitely got a letter from the NVC telling me that the case had gone to CDJ and telling me the new #

JessRaul,

When I filed my petition back in July, CSC gave me a case number that I tracked online, but on when it was forwarded to the consulate, they assigned it a new case number, beginning with CDJnnnn.

So that's why I asked, do you have that new number to verify when you got in CDJ's system?

I got another email today from CDJ saying that my case arrived electronically by October 10 but that the file arrived in boxes on Nov. 10 and that they must process it and send out the packet to me here in the US. I did send in quite a bit of evidence but certainly not enough for even one box, never mind boxes!! Anyone ever heard of this and have any idea what it really means?

Thanks
