Are the co-sponsor requirements the same as the joint sponsor?

Sorry - I don't know anything about it - I think the terms are interchangeable but not sure : (

What do you think they will look at more when filing evidence with the waiver.......lack of jobs, low wages, crimes, cost of living....or.....personal problems?

Also, our Dr. has said my grandmother has signs of beginning Stage I Alzheimer's but I cannot get him to give me a paper stating this until her next appointment in January. My whole family knows I will be her sole caregiver within the next year. Can I just have family members write letters stating this and include info on the Alzheimer's Disease or do I need to keep bugging the Dr. until he caves?

Hi UCLA-

I've used Western Union without any problem...since August, I've done something different though...I gave him an atm card to one of my bank accounts..it is linked to my primary account so that I can tranfer money into it online and he just withdraws it there. He is very careful about not withdrawing anything unless absolutely necessary and I tell him that he should. Maybe you could open an account, if you don't already have one (I probably) wouldn't send one for your primary account in case someone else got their hands on it - this way you can keep a low balance - and send the card with your uncle.

I made 2 copies of everything, including taxes, but I think it probably wasn't necessary, except for with original documents such as birth certif., etc As you all probably know, you tend to get anxious, etc with this process and go overboard. (I hope this doesn't cause permanent trauma)

Guess What,

Thanks to KK post on immigrant2us and giving phone # to DHS - I called this morning to see if they have any info on my case. They DID - we were cleared in Oct. Waiting,

Take a look at the guidelines here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=316

The stronger the evidence, the better. I would suggest a letter from the doctor indicating your grandmother's condition and then whatever you can get indicating that you will be the sole caregiver - family, doctor, etc.

YAY Allie!!!

UCLA I have sent money to my fiance using Bank of America. If I recall correctly, you have BOA. It is called Safesend and is totally free. You simply go in and sign up for the service once, then you can send money from your accounts simply by calling an 800 number. It is really convenient and free. He can withdraw the money from any Banorte or Banco Santander. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. As I said, I have used their service and am very pleased with it. Oh yeah, they will give you a password to give to him in order to withdraw it.

What happens after that waiver is approved? Does he have to go in for another interview or does he just get his Visa? I'm so full of questions and I always seem to think or more right when I'm ready to fall asleep hehe

Those are great news Allie!!! I'm really hoping you hear from CDJ soon!!

OK guys I'm worried. I called the 1-900 number for CDJ today to ask if there's any problem with my "second" last name being misspelled in the letter we received from them. The lady said she would report it to the consulate, but before that she asked me if I was calling from the US  I told her I was visiting here, and then she asked me when I was planning to go to the interview- told her the week of Dec. 20th - and also asked me for a phone number to call if necessary about the name correction. I gave her my fiance's home phone number, since I'm not at home in Mexico to get the call there, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should have given them his cell phone instead since I am at his house and they may take it the wrong way if I am the one answering the phone <_< Oh, and she also asked me if I knew my fiance's address, just to verify

Do you think they'd give me trouble if they find out I'm in the US for 6 weeks? I am here completely and absolutely legally, but now I'm worried they may come up with something and make it hard on me :( Should I call home in Mexico and ask my family not to tell them that I'm here for 6 weeks if they receive a call from CDJ?

am I making a big storm in a tiny glass of water

Emma - don't worry. You are in the US on a legal tourist visa. There is zero reason for concern. I really think she just wanted to be able to reach you if there is any problem.

Waiting - after waiver approval there is a second visa pick-up appointment - 7 weeks after the approval date.

Hi Chris, Welcome to our little group!

Juarez doesn't require the I-134 as other consulates, but if you were to submit it this is the only form that I know that has to be notarized.

My fiance is filing it out for me, but we are still deciding on the notarizing of it :)

BTW Girls, I was planning on making one copy of all the documents- bank statements and letter, pay stubs, tax transcripts & W2's, property info, etc- and I was planning to submit it and keep the originals myself. Do you think they'll take this? or will they want originals of any documents?

Right - if you use the I-134, it should be notarized.

One copy of all documents but Allie said they wanted a few original pay stubs - I included one original. I think I gave them copies of everything else and kept originals for me. Apparently they never asked for any originals or additional paycheck stubs.
