Wow so much has been going on since I was here last.

Congrats Emma glad to see you got your Packet 3

Lucy good luck at the interview. Looking forward to hearing your story.

waiting4oliverio it really doesn't take very long once he applies for the Passport. It takes much longer here in the US then it does in Mexico. Hope he gets it done soon though I know it will help knowing he has it.

Heina glad to have you as part of our little group. I'm really sorry about how things have gone for you and hope that start going much smoother now.

Ucla cutie26 I didn't realize how close our timeline is. Hope we both get our Packets very soon. Though I need to get busy and finish getting everything together I need. I'm the one putting things off now

Allie really sorry to see that you are still waiting. I was really hoping that when I came back on here to see some good news for you. I really hope that you are able to find the help you need soon.

KK you really are a great help to this group. You have always been able to answer my questions. I must say I was very happy when you went from banging your head to dancing. I really hope things start going faster for the waiver so you and all the rest of us who have to file the waiver don't have to wait much longer.

Brendbeaux welcome to the group. And good luck

Jess hope you receive you packet 3 soon. I think you have been waiting just over a month now if I'm correct. If that is right you should be getting it soon.

I don't know if I will be back for awhile I've just been staying so increadibly busy. I really need to get to the immigrate2us site and post my hardship letter soon though. I have just a few more things I want to change first though. Well I will go for now. I have to get my kids to bed it is almost 10 pm I just had to come see how everyone was doing.

Thanks for the supportive words, Louisa! I have been so anxious and worried....really happy that many of you have received the packet recently...and going crazy wondering why we've heard nothing. Yes, it has been about 5 weeks now...37 days or something like that. We are renting a place in Cuernavaca with our parents for the Christmas holidays..and I was so hoping that he could come home with us. We are all ready for the interview (although I am really nervous).

Well, I guess we are the only ones who aren't moving yet.... I know, be patient.. I'm really trying. Today I received a weird, illogical email from CDJ - in response to my email inquiry dated 11/09/06 - as follows:

This fiancé case has just arrived at our Post, please contact this office three to four weeks after we receive this file on Oct 10th. Thanks

Huh? The email is dated 11/14!

So, I called there, panicking, thinking all sorts of bad things - this time I made sure to talk to the Spanish speaking operators who seem much nicer (maybe just a coincidence). The guy couldn't tell me much except that everything looks ok and just hasn't been sent out of the unit where they review the documents yet and that if I didn't get anything in 2 weeks, I could call and have them make a report to the area director to find out what was happening. I used my nicest manners and sweetest tone and begged him to make a report today to find out something - so, he said he would do that.. Any thoughts?

Received this e-mail today,

The case for XXXXX XXXX XXXXX is in our offices and ready for an interview. An instruction packet was sent by mail on 13-Nov-2006, you can request it in our information window located in our facilities; with this document the applicants can come for their interview any day from Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This packet will also include an instruction packet answering any other questions you may have regarding your application.

I've been working on my I-601 waiver, I have a few things put together, a letter from my doctor,

proof of support for my daughter, including medical insurance, I am going to have a few letters from friends and family to send, proof that I have a very good job with excellent benefits.

What other things should I include? tax returns, proof of mortgage, bank accounts?

I have been to the immigrate2us and looked at the approved hardship letters and I can write the letter

with no problems, I'm just worried about the support documentation I'm not sure what I need.

Is there a good web site with information on Mexico's economy, unemployment rate, crime rate etc....

Thanks

what website did you guys use to email the CDJ consulate to see if your case is there yet? I'm at work right now, and wanted to post this so that hopefully by the time I get home (and log into VJ :D ) there will be a response. I've got two different emails for the CDJ consulate and I"m not sure which one to email to ask.

THanks :)

I talked to my fiance and he said he will have his ID on Dec. 3 and it will take about a week for him to get his Passport. So we are aiming to go on Dec. 13 :( I guess this will give me more time to build a strong case for his waiver.

waitingincolo......go to this site:

http://www.pbs.org/journeytoplanetearth/profiles/mexico.html

I am using this site in my waiver...It has a complete profile of Mexico. Also to find crime rates in my fiances town, I just Googled "Chilpancingo Crimes" and it found a BUNCH of stuff. Also, I have my fiance save all newspaper articles with any crimes and to show there are no jobs or housing where he lives. I hope this helps a little :)

Hola everyone

I have several questions for you guys, don't you just love my questions :D

1) Do we need to submit double copies of everything to CDJ? 2 copies of the notarized I-134? 2 copies of the bank letter/employer letter? 2 copies of tax transcripts?

2) Should I even submit my tax transcripts for the past 3 years? It's because my dad will be my co-sponsor and the past 3 years I had jobs on my college campus that limit your hours (let's just say I made a maximum of $4,000 per year while I was in college :) ) Should I still submit my tax transcripts?

3) This last question is totally way out there, lol. Have you guys ever used Western Union (or any other service) to send money to your SO in Mexico? I'm asking because I wanted to send my fiance some money for the visa fees in CDJ, but I'm not sure if I should sent it thru WEstern Union. My mom told me she once sent about 500 dollars to my grandma in Mexico and it cost about 50 bucks to send that. I didn't realize it was THAT expensive. So I was thinking that it may be best (AND CHEAPER) to send my fiance a personal check. If I send the personal check it will arrive safely because my uncle is travelling to where my fiance is from and he will personally deliver the check to my fiance. WHat do you guys think?

*****************************************************************************

THanks Allie for the e-mail. I already sent one to see if they have my paperwork at CDJ yet. Let's see how long they take to respond to my e-mail (and I hope they don't confuse me with their response) ;)

jessraul, hopefully you get your packet soon!

Danielle n Uriel, you must be sooo happy with that approval, it's such a great feeling, congrats

UCLA....Personally, I would NEVER send a check....God only knows who could get ahold of it with all of your info on it. The only way I send my fiance money is through Western Union...It's safe...They once had a typo on his name and 2 letters were switched around...They wouldn't give him the money because it was different then his actual name hehe It does cost a lil much but I'd rather do that then take a chance of all my personal info going into the wrong hands :)

2010-02-08 Filed I-130 through Ca. Service center

2010-13-08 NOA 1 Received

2010-02-11 I-130 transferred to Tx. Service Center

1) Do we need to submit double copies of everything to CDJ? 2 copies of the notarized I-134? 2 copies of the bank letter/employer letter? 2 copies of tax transcripts?

Nope - 1 of each and make an extra copy for yourself

2) Should I even submit my tax transcripts for the past 3 years? It's because my dad will be my co-sponsor and the past 3 years I had jobs on my college campus that limit your hours (let's just say I made a maximum of $4,000 per year while I was in college :) ) Should I still submit my tax transcripts?

Not sure - I think your sponsor needs three years - best to double check the joint sponsor requirements

He would probably have delays and difficulty cashing a check written from a bank out of the country - there is usually a hold of some sort i.e. 14 days. Western Union is completely safe and costs $15 to send up to $500 so I would recommend that. Be sure to use his complete name - it must match his ID exactly and you will also give him a pick up number once they give it to you.

Thanks kitkat and waiting4oliverio! It's kind of scary that I get such a quick response in this thread, but hey that's great our group is growing, it's either that or some of us are on VJ too much

kitkat,

Are the co-sponsor requirements the same as the joint sponsor? I mean, the terms may be used interchangeably right? I'm confused now . . . it's been a long day at work. I'm pretty sure the requirements are 3 years for my sponsor.

Good night girls, time for bed -_-
