My fiance is actually here in the U.S on an H2B visa, and it expires in December so that is when he is going to go back to mexico for the interview. I do have another question tho, I realized that on the I-129F petition that i filed, i put down my fathers address for where he (my fiance) intended to live, but things have changed, and he now lives with my mom, as do i when i am not in college, When they ask him at the interview where he plans on living, what does he say? does he tell the truth, or just say that he plans on living at my dads address so that it doesnt cause any problems? I dont think it will cause problems, but i also dont want alfredo to be interviewed by the ####### that looks for anything to not give him the visa.

What do you think?

Well, on the DS-156, I believe there is a question that asks for the address at which your fiance will be staying. I would have him put down your mom's address. Then, when they ask him at his interview, he can say your mom's house. My guess is they won't even notice that you put something different down on the I-129F. If they do, he can simply explain that things changed. I can't imagine that would be a big problem. I think that's a better option that lying and saying he's going to live with your dad when he's really not.

Hi everyone,

I have been very busy. I was just stopping by to say a quick hi. My husband and I finally had our religious wedding ceremony back in August in Mexico. I just wanted to post this happy thought and share that with all of you guys.

I have been too busy to connect so I am sure that much has happened since the last time I logged in back in July.

I wanted to share a short video clip of our wedding with all of you in the Juarez thread. The Juarez thread was very special to me when I was applying for my fiance's K-1 and it was always a source of support. Keep positive guys and you will achieve your dreams of having youre fiance's here with you in the U.S. After 7 years with my guy, we finally had our religious wedding in Jalisco this past August, it was beautiful!

Okay, so the link for our video. http://dstradaproducciones.com and then click on VIDEOS on the bottom. Our wedding video is the one in the top left hand corner. I am holding my bouquet of red roses and we were being attacked by flower petals and LOTS OF RICE.

Hope you enjoy it!

Just out of curiousity, did anyone notice that once you print the papers that your fiance needs to complete off of the ciudad juarez site, that they all have expiration dates up at the top and that they are already expired? does that matter ? or will the consulate even look at that? What did you guys do?

Well, if you also take a look at the DS-156K that they send you, it expired in 2004, so I would say anything from the internet is more up to date than what they sent you. I wouldn't worry about it- most people that have gone recently have used the forms from the internet and haven't had any problems.

Question for those who have been to Juarez already, or your fiance's have. Does Angel need to exchange his money before paying the medical fee and interview fee? Or can he bring pesos and they will tell him how many pesos he owes, since the exchange rate is constantly changing? Thanks!

Caity

I am back. :star:

It was a successful trip with no visa problems. I will be writing longer posts as the week progresses with more detail. I only have internet at work, and I am basically slammed with work.

Gosh, I have so many comments and experiences I wish to relate. Thank goodness for VJ. You have no idea how comforting it was to understand the process while I was in Juarez. There is just so much misinformation floating around at the hotels and on the street.

I will post longer as my day and week go along.

Thanks for all the kind words wishing me luck. I did check in on the hotel computer the night before the big day and it was comforting seeing the supportive posts.

Yes, you can pay with either. The way I read the paperwork in the fiance packet was that it had to be American dollars. So I brought US dollars just for those items, but it was not necessary.

The medical clinic we chose which was the one next to the embassy accepted the American dollars I provided my SO, and also accepts pesos.

For the interview fee which is now like $125 US, somewhere I had a old figure of $100, Banamex accepted the US dollars but asked me if I wanted my change in pesos which was fine with me.

Man the currency exchange was crazy last week. It was like $10.70 on my first day, then 12, then 13, then 14 then settled back to around 12/13.

One important item, which I had read previously in this thread, DO NOT feel the need to arrive at either the medical clinic or the embassy super early. It does not really matter. In regards to the medical clinic here is my review:

A hotel employee mentioned to my SO that people would line up as early as 4 am. I told her 7 am was more than adequate. She believed me, but you could tell she was nervous.

So here is the real deal. The clinic does not open until 6 am. I met a couple from Las Vegas who were there for their son. They had been there since 4 am, got in around 6ish and there son (children get special preference along with senior citizens) did not get out until 8 am. Me and another USC got there at 7 am, our fiancees were done at 11 am with no special preference.

Why get there at 4am when it is dark and less secure to stand outside, and finish 4 hours later, when you can arrive around 7 am and be done in 4 hrs.? And actually, at about 9:30 there was no wait to enter, but I have no idea of the wait to actual get done was.

We arrived at 2 pm for results as instructed, and my SO came out with her results in about 20 minutes. They have a side entrance for the examinees to enter to get their results and they have about 60 or so chairs outside the door for people to wait.

Once again, we went to the medical clinic right next to the embassy, just like Ronin on pg 121 of the thread did if you want to see pics. The staff was extremely professional and seems to have received better overall views than the other clinic. Also the clinic is adjacent to the embassy, plus access to an embassy employee parking lot is beside the clinic, so security is exremely present around the clinic. Generally, there were no less that four embassy security guards within fifty feet of the clinic's entrance.

Not that security was a giant concern, but I will post more later about that.

As caityrose mentioned, absolutley does not matter. We were approved last week with those docs from the website and packet.

My theory as to the expiration date is that the Mexico version has a spanish translation where the SO signs in addition to the insturctions in English. If you notice the non-expired forms found on this website and the USCIS do no have the additional Spanish translation. So I believe, that they added that change for Juarez and continue to use those documents even though the expiration date is past. Plus, the newer ones are identical except for the added spanish where the SO signs.
