That's exciting! I saw on a Puerto Vallarta wedding site that non-Mexican citizens have to be in Mexico for 4 days before their wedding. Did you hear anything like that with your Jalisco wedding?

I didn't hear anything about having to be there 4 days before the wedding. Maybe that applies to those who are having a civil wedding in Mexico, we are having the religious wedding there since we already had the civil ceremony in Vegas. Either way, I will be in Jalisco 4 weeks before our wedding and my husband will be there 7 weeks before the wedding.

Ah, you might be right. We're going to have our civil wedding here and a religious one in Mexico. You may be right about it though. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a beautiful wedding!

Hello folks,

I'm trying to make a complete list of all the forms and whatnot my fiance will need to bring to his interview- and I'm wondering if the DS-230 is required. It's for an immigrant visa, but somebody told me that it was needed for the fiance visa. Is this true?

I'm so glad the Ciudad Juarez website is so clear...

Thanks everyone!

Caity

Hey Caity,

It's not true for Ciudad Juarez. I'm glad the CDJ website is clear, too! And glad to know this thread exists because CDJ's requirements are a little bit different with some of the other consulates. Btw, if you haven't checked it recently, it has changed. I had bookmarked the Fiance Packet section, and the link didn't exist anymore, so now it's here:

http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/immigr...visa-forms.html

And says this is what we need:

Fiancée Packet

* Fee Information, form CDJ 446

* Instructions, form CDJ 400

* Statement of Intent to Marry, form CDJ 402

* Form DS-156K

* Form CDJ 430

* Medical Examination Instructions, form Mexwide 202 K

* Public Charge Information, form OF-167

But I wish that it was more ...consistent down there at CDJ. If you haven't yet, take a look at this thread where they had to prove the petitioner was a US citizen even though that was already proven when the I-129F application was approved: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=134178

I haven't gotten my list of documents yet, because I haven't received NOA2 yet... it's a little nerve-wracking, and I think I'd be even more stressed if I started gathering all the documents now.

Well- I'm attempting to get the forms together because I'm going to visit my fiance in two weeks, and I want to be able to fill out the forms together so that he knows just exactly what is going on. But first I have to try and figure just exactly what's going on... ahhh. I hope you get your NOA2 soon nm123, I've been seeing lots of Jan/Feb approvals from CSC... good luck to you!!!

Ah potential interview questions... Yes- I've been quizzing my fiance on random information about myself. Now, whenever he forgets something stupid, he likes to remind me that he knows I was born at St. Michael's hospital and he knows all of my family's names and whatnot- so I'm really hoping that the person at the consulate is interested in knowing if my fiance knows what hospital I was born at. That'll prove that we're really in love, right?

Who knows what they may end up asking, but that's cute! Sometimes I'll actually forget an important piece of information/date, and he'll correct me. He's still trying to get my family member's names down though, 'cause they're a little different from Spanish-influenced names.

This is my first post to this thread, but thought I would announce that we received the K1 today! Almost 6 months to the day from receiving the NOA1.

The reason there is a month between Packet 3 Received and the Interview is because my fiancee had put in a notice to quit her job, and we took our time preparing the forms. She also made three separate bus trips from Torreon to Juarez for the medical exam, TB exam for child and finally the interview (She preferred to do this rather than stay in Juarez). That alone took over a week.

I will have her leave a review of the consulate. She said the interview went very quick and her interviewer was very friendly, but she had to wait another 5 hours just to get the visa.

We didn’t encounter a single problem through the entire process. The information we received from this site was extremely helpful, so thanks all.

Hey KC1, Congratulations on the visa!! It looks like you had a fairly quick and painless process to get the visa, let's hope that those of us who are waiting have good luck as well!!
