Hey everyone!

I am putting together the evidence for the I-129F that we have met in the last 2 years and also some proof of an ongoing relationship. The emails and letters we have written each other are for the most part in Spanish. Must they be translated so that the adjudicator can read what they say, or isn't a translation necessary? I am able to translate them, but I don't know if they accept that. What did you guys do?

Thanks so much for all your help. Once I'm a pro at this, and I am able to answer people's questions- I will help people just as much as you all are helping me!

Thanks,

Caity

E-mails are not the best proof. The best proof is pictures of the both of you together and plane tickets or hotel receipts, that sort of thing. It will be proof enough to put 4 or 5 pictures with your names, place, and the dates on the back along with the matching hotel/plane tickets. A key thing to remember is to use color COPIES for the I-129F for everything and save your originals for when you go to Juarez. I sent in the originals for the I-129F (including an original birth certificate) so now I don't have them for the actual appointment in Juarez!

For our interview in April I put together a binder with photos, emails, phone call reciepts, plane tickets, and so on... From what I have read in the reviews they usually take a quick look at the proof and rely more on the income to make sure they wont be a burden once they get here. They are applying for the visa so they are the ones that need the original documentation. I am still providing her with copies of my birth certificate just in case but I doubt they will need it. As for emails.. mine are also in spanish so I wont be translating them since actual photos and the passport stamps and plane tickets would be more usefull as proof. I blocked out certain info with a marker on the emails that are a bit too personal too.

Remember guys that when you are initially sending the I-129F, it is best to include primary evidence: airline ticket stubs from your trips to Mexico, receipts of purchases made in mexico (with month, date, year), copies of passport pages that show admission stamps into Mexico (don't forget to include the identification page). Secondary evidence would be film dated pics of both of you. Remember that emails, letters and phone bills do not really prove that you have seen each other. They simply prove that you communicate between each other.

Back when I submitted my I-129F I got an RFE. I really believe the reason I got it is because I included too much stuff, including 5, 1-page emails and 3, 1 page letters. So try to concentrate on sending primary evidence and send in SOME secondary.

To get your I-129F approved you only need to convince them that you have met within the 2 years. Then, during the interview in CDJ that's when you need to prove the validity of the relationship. In Juarez, that's where you will take your big binders with pics, emails, letters, phone records, ticket stubs, and any other evidence you have of your relationship.

You have already gotten some good responses to your question...I just thought I'd add that since you will be filing in California, that they have people there that can read Spanish. So it is O.K. to send in some un-translated Spanish e-mails. You don't need a lot....just some from different time frames, if possible. Follow the guides and you should be fine, and don't be afraid to ask more questions if you feel you need to. VJ people are the best when it comes to giving advice! jajajaja

Hi,

You should check out the example forms, they are very helpful. For question 26, how long you plan to stay in the U.S? PERMANENTLY

For questin 27, purpose? MARRIAGE AND RELOCATION TO THE UNITED STATES. When I filled out the paperwork for Juarez I used the example forms from this website.

Good luck!

Heyyy it's me again- with more questions, regarding the G-325A and I-129F (which I think I have made far too difficult to fill out). I'm guessing that many of your fiances had 2 first names and 2 last names. How did you put their names on the application?

Let's say my fiance's name is Jose Miguel Martinez Perez... I was going to put:

Last name: Martinez Perez

First name: Jose

Middle name: Miguel

Is this a smart way to do it? My fiance usually goes by his 2nd name, so I don't him to eventually move here and have his second name just disappear because I put it as his middle name, so I'm wondering if I should put his first name as "Jose Miguel." Can you folks give me advice as to what you put? Thanks so much!! This is (cross your fingers) my last question regarding the G-325A and I-129F. :)

I will use your fiance's name as an example of how I did it.....

First name: Jose Miguel

Middle name: Martinez

Last name: Perez

It should show up on his passport with first, middle, and last so just look at the passport.

But do you really want to use Martinez as a middle name???

When I filled out my husbands G-325 this is how I did it:

First name: Jose

Middle: Miguel

Last name: Franco

I have not included his maternal last name. I don't want him to come to the US and have his documents with his maternal last name (since we don't use maternal last names here).

So when we get his documents, all it will show will be Jose Miguel Franco

But I guess this is up to each person's decision.

Best of luck.

Do we need to glue a 2x2 photo to the form in packet 3 (I forget what it is called) or do we just bring the 2x2 photos separately?

Do not glue them, just take the photos separately. They will ask for them once you are at the interview.

Puerto Vallarta? It is supposed to be really nice...

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are going to have a big religious ceremony in Mexico this summer (we just had a quick civil ceremony here in the U.S.) So we are looking at honeymoon destinations in Mexico. We really wanted to go to Cancun, but its hurricane season during August, :( so we are trying to decide where to go.

Do any of you recommend any nice beaches?

I agree Puerto Vallarta is probably your best bet if you want to stay away from the Yucatan. I used to live in Jalisco and I went to Puerto Vallarta many times and can say that the "Romantic Zone" just south of downtown is really cool with a lot of quaint little bars and restaurants and still close to all the nightclubs on the Malecón. It really feels more like Mexico than the high rise/resort part of the city. The beach on this stretch is also really nice. Just remember to get a hotel with good air conditioning becuase it can be oppressively hot in the summer. If you wanna go a little more exotic there are places like Punta de Mita and Sayulita like an hour north of Vallarta and the beaches there are phenomenal.

On another note, I just got back from CDJ a few days ago and posted a review of my consulate experience so dont hesitate to ask any questions- i would be glad to help anyone who still has to do the interview.

Conditional green card issued 30 January 2009

My papers arrived to Juarez today according to the DHL trick. Should only be a month or so left to go. Now do I just sit tight and wait for packet 3 to come in the mail or do I call the U.S. embassy in Juarez in a couple days?

You can call the embassy in Juarez and check to see if they have sent you the packet. If they have sent it, they will tell you the actual date they sent it. That's what we did. By the way, my husband in Mexico never received the packet. I only got it in the US.
