Hi Guys, how is everyone doing?

I'm back because I'm not really sure about how to proceed with my dilemma with Edgar. As you all know we were denied due to Edgar saying he smoked weed at this medical - duh? Anyway - he is banned for 3 years until we can apply again.

I don't know if I have to submit all the papers all over again or if the case is till open or what. I don't know what we have to present at the next interview etc. We were going to get papers from the doctor proving that he has been in counseling and taking drug tests from the time of the failed interview up until he can go back again - in hipes that that will be all we will need to get the approval to get married.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I just don't want this to get screwed up again - if we get denied again, I don't know what we are going to do.

http://www.visacentral.net

I would at least contact Laurel Scott and have a phone consultation at minimum.

Puerto Vallarta? It is supposed to be really nice...

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are going to have a big religious ceremony in Mexico this summer (we just had a quick civil ceremony here in the U.S.) So we are looking at honeymoon destinations in Mexico. We really wanted to go to Cancun, but its hurricane season during August, :( so we are trying to decide where to go.

Do any of you recommend any nice beaches?

I just posted Ruth's actual review from her trip to Juarez...so you get 2 for the price of one. That first one was just pasted together from e-mails she sent me. This one is more for "public consumption." Hope it's helpful to some of you...

the beaches in oaxaca are truly spectacular, and somewhat off the beaten path. Huatulco's a bit more high-end, with hotels and such, while puerto escondido has a more laid back crowd and the most delicious italian food i've ever eaten. It's also not as developed.

remember that the doctor he is supposedly seeing for drug therapy is in Acapulco!!!!

ucla_cutie26 - I would recommend Puerto Vallarta. We are planning to do a kind of similar thing that you guys are doing (justice of the peace, then wedding in Mexico with family and friends after he has his residency). I loved the town of Puerto Vallarta, but I suppose if you want white sand and clear water, you might have to stay in the Gulf of Mexico side.

Janet - I did a search on here and saw that someone named "Esperando enohio" went through the same thing and was getting ready in November 07 (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96835). And then they were approved in December. Here is the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1425409. Also a "senoritacindy" went through the same thing.

Hey UCLAcutie,

Leo and I and our family just got back from Puerto Vallarta (Nov. 2007). It is a great town. Lots of tequila stores. Good food. Nightlife is okay. Lots of tourists. There are a lot of day activities. We did a zip line tour that was amazing. Rythmns of the night was spectatular. You take a boat to a remote area and big show and dinner. Beach was okay. I'm not a ocean person - I like to sit at the pool. Weather was great. My husband is from Acapulco so he was disappointed with the nightlife. Their big nightclub was not very good - Christines. Flea market is really neat. Very clean city. Tourist city. We had a great time but we are more loyal to Acapulco. Prettier city due to Acapulco Bay. We also saw 2 whales in Puerto Vallarta on one of our boat rides. That was very cool! Send me a message if you want me to send any pictures of our trip. Good Luck. Allie

We really wanted to go to Cancun, but its hurricane season during August, :( so we are trying to decide where to go.

Hi there, well I would definately recommend the Island of Cozumel. It is beautiful, you have everything nearby, we were there 16 days. Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, and the waters are just beaufiful, crystal clear. We went snorkling everyday, in our beachfront hotel. It is VERY Expensive and we were actually the only Mexicans in our Hotel...so the waiters and service people do tend to be racist (with Mexicans) and prefer the European/American tourists.

But then again, it is kind of close to Cancun...so I don't know about hurricanes around that time. Before going on our honeymoon I researched Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, and they both seemed beautiful and way cheaper than Cozumel.

Anyways, good luck finding a nice place...and besides, when you are in love, any place is Beautiful!!!!!

On the DS-157, do they call the beneficiary's last two employers?

My opinion only,...but frankly, I don't think they have the time or manpower to do much of that. If the person was "borderline" or somehow suspicious, MAYBE they'd check their references...I don't think you have much to worry about.

This gets asked a lot...The way I have heard it, only JFK airport in New York SOMETIMES will stamp your visa for the 90 day work authorization. But then you'd still have to stop working until your actual EAD showed up. So for all practical purposes, your best bet is to marry as quickly as possible, and then file the whole AOS/EAD/AP package. I have seen some people say 2-3 months after filing, or also 45 to 90 days, is what you can expect for the turn around time on the EAD. Have you looked under the guides? There is an explanation there....We are getting close to doing this ourselves, hopefully within a few weeks.

I also saw on a recent thread in the K1 section about someone who went to another POE (not JFK) and simply asked if they could get the temporary work authorization stamp, and they were able to get one. But it seems that most people are aware of JFK often issuing that stamp so will go out of their way to make sure that its their POE.

Hey folks,

I'm trying to finish my fiance's G-325A form- and on the question that says "Last occupation abroad"- should I include his current job in Mexico? It's not abroad for him, but it's abroad from the US. Does that make sense? I just dont' want to screw anything up on this form!

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, I am thinking they mean "abroad" as it relates to the U.S. I would put it in there.

Well, the form reads "Show below last occupation abroad if not shown above." You should not include his current job in Mexico in that section, because like you said "IT'S NOT ABROAD FOR HIM". My husband has only lived and worked in Mexico, so in that section I just typed: N/A.
