onofre's update is on or around page 121 of this thread I believe. Or you can get a separate report just by searching "Juarez." It is very useful and probably the best report yet on the Juarez experience. Complete with pictures and lots of details.

My I-129F has not been approved yet.

Hello racheljana,

Thank you for your response. However, where do I find Onofre's update? I'm very new to this thread and not familiar with it.

Has your I-129F been approved? Has it reached NVC or Juarez?

This is what I'm talking about. There is an expiration of the NOA2, right? Does anybody have information on that? I mean, Jeff and Sofia are talking about less than two months in order to gather everything and go!

Also, check onofre's report for hotel information.

Don't know about the form information.

Hi everyone, hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!

I need some help with some last minute items. I received the US citizen copy of the invitation letter in the mail Nov. 19, but my fiance in Mexico has not received her invitation letter and packet. Our NOA2 expires 1/9/08!

Need confirmation, can we use my copy of the invitation letter? Or, do you have to use the one the fiance should receive?

Also, can someone else confirm if the consulate will be open 1/2/08 - 1/4/08? I know that the consulate is supposed to be open all days except American and Mexican holidays and last friday of the month. Just want to make sure the following days after New Year's are not considered "Gov't" holidays.

Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay in Juarez? I'm really looking forward to seeing mi amor!!!

Lastly, the example forms DS-157, DS-158, and DS-230 on Visa Journey are not included in the Fiance Visa Packet available online on the Juarez Consulate website. Can someone confirm what these are for? And, that they are not needed?

Thanks as always!

I mean, Jeff and Sofia are talking about less than two months in order to gather everything and go! Yes, NOA2 has expiration. However in rare cases CDJ takes so long to send out fiance packet that it gets close to NOA2 expiration. However if packet is already sent out to you - and within NOA2 - go before it expires or send an email to CDJ to request a NOA2 extension. If CDJ is still working on case and it is in there hands and NOA2 expires - you are okay. You can send a friendly email to them advising you have not received fiance packet and NOA2 is set to expire and request an extension. Most likely they will email you back and say since in there hands and they are working on the case, NOA2 doesn't matter.

Also, check onofre's report for hotel information.

Need confirmation, can we use my copy of the invitation letter? Or, do you have to use the one the fiance should receive? NO YOU CAN USE THE USA COPY (EXACT SAME) - GO GO GO. Most people have already gone and approved before letter to Mexico address gets there. GO TO CDJ TODAY!

Also, can someone else confirm if the consulate will be open 1/2/08 - 1/4/08? I know that the consulate is supposed to be open all days except American and Mexican holidays and last friday of the month. Just want to make sure the following days after New Year's are not considered "Gov't" holidays. It should be open but CDJ has been known to close down entire weeks of holidays. You just never know.

There are a bunch of hotels. A lot stay in Holiday Inn. I stayed at the Fiesta Inn. A little more expensive but classified as business hotel that has access to fax, email. Also has restaurant on site and in walking distance to a mall. You will have to take a short cab ride to CDJ.

Lastly, the example forms DS-157, DS-158, and DS-230 on Visa Journey are not included in the Fiance Visa Packet available online on the Juarez Consulate website. Can someone confirm what these are for? And, that they are not needed? Yes, they are needed. You need to fill out the DS156 adn DS157 on-line. It generates a bar code. Nothing is send to CDJ but you need to print a bunch of copies to bring with you. Read the instructions in your packet and on-line. It explains all what is needed. http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhiv...ml#fiancepacketThanks as always!

Thank you, Allie! I finally have this answered. So, usually how far out is the expiration date? Two months, three? And then for Juarez it is 6 months once you get the K-1 visa, right?

RachelJana - hope this helps

Okay. NOA2 is 4 month till it expires. For example, I received my NOA2 on May 2 and it expired on 9/1. Once you get your NOA2 it goes to NVC for processing (they forward to consulate and do some background checks), then NVC sends to CDJ. NVC will notify you when they send your case to CDJ. Once CDJ reviews your case and is ready for you to come to interview they send you a letter (fiance packet). My letter was dated 7/19. They send 2 letters. One to USA address and one to Mexico address. You dont' have to wait to get both in the mail. Go as soon as you get USA one. Could take a month for Mexico mail. So took 2 months from my NOA2 approval for my fiance to go to his interview. Times are quicker now. Because my fiance (at the time) had to go back a second time (long story) it was past our NOA2 expiration but CDJ said didn't matter because case was at CDJ processing. Once you are granted your K1 Visa, you have 6 months to enter USA. It is a 1 time entry. You cannot leave until granted your greencard or been given advance parole (additional costs). Once you enter USA - you have 3 months to get married - then you start your AOS paperwork for greencard. Hope this helps. You should start preparing all you documents for CDJ once you get your NOA2 approval. Once you get to CDJ it is like starting over - you must have all the CDJ forms and prove your relationship, do medical, fingerprint, background checks. Good luck to you.

Thought I'd check back in while I'm waiting for my wife's Adjustment of Status....

Need confirmation, can we use my copy of the invitation letter? Or, do you have to use the one the fiance should receive?

The appointment letter you got (US-Petitioner) is suffice. I didn't even bother waiting for her to receive the packet.

Also, can someone else confirm if the consulate will be open 1/2/08 - 1/4/08?

To be 100% sure, call...otherwise I'd follow their posted 2007 holiday schedule.

2007 Holiday Schedule: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhholy.html

Juarez Consultate Contact Info: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhcis1.html

Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay in Juarez?

Really depends on how much money you want to spend. I stayed at the "Lucerna"..cost was around $80/night....nice place.

Hotel Web Site: http://www.lucerna.com.mx/cd-juarez/index.php

Lastly, the example forms DS-157, DS-158, and DS-230 on Visa Journey are not included in the Fiance Visa Packet available online on the Juarez Consulate website. Can someone confirm what these are for? And, that they are not needed?

DS-156 - Required For Everyone. Form used for the K-1 Visa issuance in Juarez. Fillout online, but PRINT at home and bring with to appt.

DS-157 - Only required for MALE beneficiaries between the ages of 16-45. Criminal Background Check.

DS-157K - Spanish version of DS-157

DS-158 - Unfamiliar with

DS-230 - Another biographic form.

I went through the K-1 Process in July 2007 and DS-158 & DS-230 forms were NOT required for the K-1

Remember NOT every form on the CDJ Web site is for K-1 visa holders.

Go to the "Fiancée Packet" section of the following web site...the instructions are there as to what exact forms you need:

http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhivfm.html

Hope this helps....good luck

Application For Naturalization (N-400)

01/10/2013 - Packet Sent to Phoenix Lockbox

01/16/2013 - NOA & Check Cashed

02/06/2013 - Biometrics Appt

04/23/2013 - Placed in the Oath Ceremony Queue

Excellent! Just curious... do you continuing tracking your case online from the USCIS website when it goes to NVC? If not, since it goes to Dept. of State, how do y'all find out this information?

Hi everyone!!

Well our case was approved on 11/21 and it finally reached NVC on 12/12. Racheljana, that's right you need to call NVC directly and give them your USCIS case number to check if your petition has reached NVC. It is currenty taking about 3 weeks for approved petitions to arrive at NVC. After it reaches NVC, you will be given another case number that begins with NVCXXXXXXXXXXX. With this new number you will be able to track your petition and write (or call) the embassy in Ciudad Juarez to see if they received your petition.

Best of luck.

Hola everyone, need some assistance with this question:

"30. Have You Ever Been Issued a U.S. Visa? When? Where?"

My fiance has a Laser Visa that she uses to cross to the US regularly for shopping and leisure activities. She has no idea the dates of all her crossings, etc... What is the appropriate response here?

Also, my fiance has obtained three B-2 Visas in the past to travel and visit me. But, we never made copies of these. They were returned to immigration before their expiration. We do not have the dates of issue for these either. What is the appropriate reponse here also?

Anyone with previous experience? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know the answers. Maybe for the dates of her crossings, she'd have the dates stamped on her passport? Sorry I'm not much help.

Good news for me. My packet 3 arrived. It was mailed December 5 and arrived yesterday here in Mexico. Esta bien chidillo.
