KitKat can now retire!

And that's exactly what I'm gonna do. So for anyone who is still around from the nightmare days of IMBRA or who filed along with me (Allie, Alejandra, Emma, Monica, etc), our waiver was approved and we are finally going home to get married.

I've pretty much stopped posting here since most of the K1s are finished (along with my ever-increasing discontent with this site, how it's run and the wealth of misinformation and nastiness that abounds). But of course that doesn't include any of my fellow Mexico filers. It's been great going through this with all of you.

Buena suerte a todos y adios!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you! You deserve it so much! When is the big day?? CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats kit kat!!!! I hope you change your mind about participating in this forum. You're knowledge has been invaluable.

As to the question about the fiance needing to be at home for the CDJ packet ... my fiance's packet was delivered via regular mail and was left in her mailbox.

Congratulations, KitKat!!

I'm practicing filling out the I-129F and even though Mexico doesn't require the I-134, but some of the other Juarez people have used it to make the process easier. If I end up using it, should I get it notarized (the bottom part asks for a Signature of Officier Administering Oath), or can I just leave that blank (or just sign my own name but leave the "commission expires on ___" blank?).

Also, I am a naturalized US citizen and I'm confused about the "A" number. On my certificate of citizenship, there are two A numbers (one is in red ink, and the other has the phrase "Registration No." next to it). Which one do I use on the forms I'm filling out?

Thanks everyone,

Felicidades KitKat!!!

It's about time girl, we were all waiting to hear your great news. We knew it would one day come. Now you can finally be with your guy TOGETHER. As I read about your waiver approval I got chills all over, I'm so happy for you. As for the retirement, we knew that day would one day come. Now you'll have your hubby in the U.S. with you and you won't have too much time to post on VJ (it's expected, it's happened with a bunch of us). But try to check in once in a while to let us know how you guys are doing. Congrats, you guys deserve it!!

congratulations, kitkat. I bet that is the biggest relief.

I'm trying to prepare pretty much everything so that as soon as I get the NOA2 (or my mom does since she's in the US) I'll be pretty much ready to go- just waiting for it to be sent to the NVC and then the consulate. I was reviewing all of the reports that the.ronin put together and people often talked about an interview date. However, according to the Juarez letter (I can't remember what the name of the form is since I'm not typing from my usual computer and don't have the info saved) it says to compile the listed information and then to come any working day from Monday through Thursday, etc.

So, is there an actual date of the interview or do we go once we get the letter and our stuff together? Any day (that it is open, of course) that we choose?

Also, for proof of our ongoing relationship, I actually put it in with the I-129F package. While I'll add new photos and proof of me being here in Mexico with him (although not with him so the lease is a no-go), can I repeat certain things like my lease, migration card and boarding passes here?

My fiance (in Mexico) and I received notification that the K-1 application had been sent to the consulate in Cuidad Juarez (NOA2 and NVC notice of forwarding to consulate). However, this was 6 weeks ago, and she still hasn't received her packet in the mail. This seems like its a lot longer than the average wait times, so I called the consulate today to check on the status. I was told by a gentleman that I, as the petitioner, was mailed a packet to my address here in the US on Oct. 4th, and that no packet or letter would be mailed to my fiance. Everything for the interview has already been mailed to me.

Am I right in assuming that this is incorrect information and I should call them again to speak to someone else about my fiance's packet? All other sources indicate that she is the one who should be receiving the next packet of info.

Thanks for any advice...

Unless something has recently changed, you and your fiance will both be receiving the same packet in the mail. They send one to the US address and one to Mexican address. Due to slow mail system in Mexico most of the time it takes a month for Mexican address to receive (some don't get at all) and just a few days to get at US address. You should be receiving yours in the mail this week. Then go go go to CDJ!!! Actually you don't even have to wait for packet to come. Since they have confirmed your packet was mailed you could go to consulate today. Walk up to the window and ask them for your appointment letter. I'm assuming you have already filled out all the necessary forms/applications and are prepared to go.

Good Luck at CDJ and let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much, Allie. I called again today, and was told exactly what you said. Except for the idea of going without the letter; apparently they do not allow this anymore. Who knows, in any case I would be nervous to go there and be turned away. Hopefully the packet will arrive here within the next week...I will let you know how things go! Thanks again.

Kitkat: I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU, CONGRATULATIONS GIRL! THIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS!

As for me, sorry I have not been around - I have been through a lot with Edgar's rejection from the Consulate. To recap what happened, he failed the medical interview by admitting to smoking pot a few months before the interview - this is an automatic rejection. Remember those of you who are ready to go for your interview, no matter what questions they ask at the medical and no matter how 'comfortable' they make you feel, never ever ever admit to using any kind of drug ever in your life - you will be denied plain and simple. Edgar and I are banned from applying again until 2010! So much time and money down the drain. Thousands.

I'm back and now I'm trying to think about how we are going to proceed. I don't know if we should get married and apply for the K-1 or go the fiance route again. I want to start making decisions about this by January 2008 and start to make plans on what we are going to do.

One question I have in my mind is if we go back to apply for the fiance visa in 2010, and they see he was denied for failing the medical, how can we get around this the second time around? I know he can say he doesn't do any kind of drugs at the medical but what if they don't believe him? I know we will not be able to survive another rejection. Any suggestions on what we can do to get him here once and for all???

Ok VJ, the time has come for fiancee and I to meet each other at Ciudad Juarez! I leave tomorrow, Tuedsay 16th. I'll bring pics and detailed information of the interview, including hotel info, spending, ect..

But before I leave, and it must be the nervousness that I have right now. This is what I gathered so far, please let me know if Im missing anything:

passport

copy and original of my birth certificate

copy of state id

Financial support, bank statement, 401k, tax transcripts (3yrs)

Letter of intent to marry her from me.

Pictures, phone bills, phone card receipts, of ongoing relationship.

She has the rest of her part.

*But does she have to make double copies of the DS-156 & DS-156k? Because it said "fill in duplicate forms DS-156"? It might sound stupid but this confused me.

*Do I have to fill/sign out ANY of these forms, too or just her?

*There is a document in the fiancee packet called CDj-401, this for is not found on the ENGLISH version site but it was found on the SPANISH version and this confused me. http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwhcdj401.html

If so, do we fill it out just incase or what should we do? Its a 4pg form.

Please give me last minute advice because its show time and I think when people get nervous we tend to make mistakes or miss something important even of we have a check list to follow! :help:

wish us luck!

Hey Janet,

Welcome Back! We were wondering what happened to you. Hope you are surviving and making frequent trips to Mexico. Edgar needs to be rehab and get regular blood tests to send to the consulate.

"Applicants who have been in remission for three years since the last drug use can reapply for the visa. The consulate will keep the case open during this period. They should come prepared with evidence that they have undergone drug counseling or similar rehabilitation"

Hope this helps.

Allie
