Yay Marty and CONGRATS! I cannot believe you guys made it out of there by 9:30am! That is impressive! Hey - are you guys going to be staying in Detroit (or the surrounding suburbs?) My fiance and I land in Detroit on June 28th, and we'll be spending some time with my family until heading over to NYC. Maybe we can all get together for dinner and ###### about AOS paperwork? Haha.

CONGRATS!

amiga, I think they also asked for the DS156k which is the fiance supplement. And I can't remember, but I think maybe a copy of my birth certificate.

I had one of those expanding folders (no metal) and organized it according to importance. First, invite letter and 129F approval. Then my letter of support, his and a letter stating why I wasn't there. Our birth certificates. All the DS forms. I134 packet which was unecessary. The 129F packet. The evidence which they didn't even ask for. Totally organized and nice and neat Nothing. I guess better they shouldn't ask.

The only paper he asked about from the I129F was my divorce paperwork. Marco seems to think they didn't even really look at anything!

The photos were in a separate album organized best I could considering I had no idea where or when some of them were taken. And of course, I pried the metal buttons off of it with pliers. I only slightly hurt one finger though I shocked and horrified my friend Michelle who witnessed the process.

I can't wait till that text message comes on Wednesday night :D

All packed, ready to go. Sick to my stomach. :)

My father and mother are driving me crazy...they're both so nervous. I told them to keep it to themselves...I've got enough nervousness for an army.

I'm just soooo worried that they'll profile him and grill him and send him to the shrink. I just have to pray (and I'm not even religious) that we will only come across kind people.

Hello All! Well, after my trip to the Juarez Consulate I can give you all my two cents worth of tips and advice for a K1.

My lady and I followed the advice on the this website and went to the medical facility across the street (it is air conditioned and less crowded). Do this the day before as they make you return after 2 pm to pick up results. You will be late for your interview if you try to do this the same day.

The day of your interview, if you are the petitioner, you will not get into the consulate unless they need to speak to you so don't even try it. It is very hot and alot of people end up waiting until 4:30 to 5 pm like me. Do yourselves a favor a have a figure out where you will meet beforehand. It is a painfully long wait for those of us who are outside. Those that go into the consulate do not have any way of communicating with you at all! This sucks because if they are mising a document or need something else they are let go and out the door at any time. My experience was that most manila envelopes came out between 2-3 pm and again around 4:30 pm. I spent two days there in this process. If you are asked to come back, you will have a blue little paper.

Speaking of the blue little paper, if your significant other has children and you are filing jointly for them in this process plan on staying an extra day in Juarez. EVERYONE with children were asked to return due to fraud/kidnapping of children. Would've been nice if we knew this as our flights were set and the reservation change and extra day in the hotel was expensive.

The Holiday Inn on Lincoln is a short walk and relatively inexpensive in you book in advance (available onling ay holidayinn.com). It is also near the shopping mall with a supermarket to provide you with anything including meals at a super great price.

Aviacsa Airlines has great prices into Juarez! It was slightly higher than the bus and 18 hours shorter each way from Guadalajara, Jal.

My Susy and her son got their visas and will be here shortly (a couple weeks). I am very excited to finaly have them here with me! Mucha suerte to all of you who have to go through this process.

Oh, and if you do get a little blue paper, don't get depressed. I would say that the majority of those who got them got their visa the next day (about 95% of those who I talked to that day). They like to hand them out toward the end of the day because they are getting ready to go home for the day.

Adios!

Jaime

Congrats to you and your family, Pepito.

Why do people tend to get the blue paper?

Because, I suspect, most of the people there were illegal immigrants trying to get their visas. I was told it's pretty difficult to get a visa if you crossed illegally.
