Ok well as some of you know we made it to Juarez. It was a very special moment when we were able to see each other again. We spent some time with each other and then went to dinner and to the mall...which I'll have to post a pic of later because quite frankly is hilarious!

So this morning we woke up really early and were like what the heck lets go see if the medical office is open (today is a holiday here) and guess what it was...and he is there right now. one day early! I think this will be good. Anyways I waited until he entered the building and then took a courageous voyage across the street to a Starbucks and came back to the hotel.

Fingers crossed and lots of prayers please

Sandi

Do you know or can you ask them (the clinic) what days they will be closed this month of November? I was told by the consulate that they close the days the consulate are closed.

We still dont know if we will go during this month, but it would be nice to know if we can get there on Sunday and go to the medical (hopefully it is open) on Monday and not spend a long time over there.

Thanks Sandi and best of luck!!!!!!

I already asked for you...kind of...I asked and they said that they are open when it is not a MAJOR holiday....whatever that means. Today is All Souls Day...not major I guess. I will ask again when I go back later.

I also wanted to add that if anyone flies into El Paso and needs a taxi service to cross over Victor Garcia is who I recommend. He is just a dear. Very helpful and kind. He charges $45 dollars and takes you to the hotel and if you use his service you get a discount at the Holiday Inn. Something around $55 dollars.

Sandi,

How much did you guys struggle to receive the letter from CJ/and or find out that they were done with the processing and verification.

We are still waiting for them to be finished with the "verification". They received, I guess the electronic copy from NVC, on Sept 16.....but they still have not given us the green light to go over there for the open appointment. The guy who answered the call said that it usually takes 10 weeks for them to be done with everything. How did you guys get it in like 31 days from when Ciudad Juarez received from NVC.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much, and thanks for finding out for us on the holiday thing.

Ernesto:

Well, I think we waited like 5 weeks or something. I called everyday to NVC and they always told me the same thing...that Juarez has not received anything. I basically gave up calling because it was depressing me. Then one day (it was a Friday) I called and they said it was sent out the day before. I did contact my congresswoman to inquire on our case. She sent me a letter, too. Said that she got confirmation that the letter was sent. Not sure if that helped or not,, but it couldn't hurt. They seem to be very helpful. After they told me the letter was sent it took about 10 days for me to receive the hardcopy in the US. His however took over a month in Mexico.

I really think you will hear something soon. You know that it is there. No matter what the NVC says...it is there. They don't know anything really until it is sent from Juarez. Trust me it's there. I know it is frustrating hearing the same thing day after day that they haven't received it...but it is there. You will soon be here.

I called the 202 number....I am very surprised I don't have it memorized! :P ...Yeah forget about wasting your money calling Juarez...not sure if they know anything at all. I think it is very scripted. Very expensive.

Yeah Sandi! I am so glad you guys are ahead of schedule. Roberto made it through POE Houston this morning. He said he'll give me the details later but it was no problem.

Wow Sandi this means you guys might be out of Juarez a day early. Right?

well, at this point I am not sure. The bank was not open today and we aren't sure what to do. The bank opens tomorrow at 9. Not sure if we should go there first and pay and then run over for the appointment. Any suggestions here?

Sandi,

I will be using victors services as soon as I found out something from Juarez. I called NVC and they said they sent out the letter already, but Juarez says they haven't so I am confused. I would go to the bank first thing and run over to the consulate your appointment is from 8-10 right?

Sandi,

When your bf gets in the consulate they will ask for the Banamex receipt so you have to go there first and don't worry, your letter says 8-10, you will be alright ... just make sure get to the bank earlier, next day after holiday is crowded ... that way you can be some of the first and then run to the Consulate.

Good luck!!

Ernesto,

I think I am going to get my Congresswomen involved. I called NVC again and they told me Juarez has sent out packet three. I told them that Juarez informed me on Friday that packet 3 still hasn't been sent out and it could take up to two more weeks for them to send it out. The lady said they have the system updated as packet 3 being sent out and she also said that Juarez failed to note my account for the call on Friday. The lady at NVC said every time I call NVC or Juarez the call is logged. I am hoping my Congresswomen can get a straight answer, because I need to start making plane and hotel reservations.

Hi All;

Well we have 2 more months to wait until we can call for our 2nd interview - that was a long 2.5 year wait - *phew* but we are still together amazingly. I hope everything goes ok this time. I have to call January 2nd for a new interview, does anyone have an idea of how long the backup is when you call in for a new appt? This is for the K-1 fiance visa.

Hi Janet,

How are you? I connected to the Juarez group to see if any of the first original posters still connect and I see you. Wow girl, I am so glad you're still together with Edgar. I can't wait to hear from you when he finally passes his interview this time with flying colors. Then you two will be reunited and celebrating.

I didn't really connect on VJ anymore after AOS was done with, but now that we are filing for removal of conditions I have been logging in.

Best of luck to you Janet with this second interview, everything will go well this time.

Also best of luck to all others on this thread. I was once a crazy poster on this Juarez forum, but have now retired since my hubby is now here with me in the US. Hopefully, all of you will be together with your SO one day in the near future. :star:
