also how to aim at ankles and legs ...

there are other spots for 'quick bleed out' besides the heart and neck, ya know, in the lower body parts.

Some spots are not as fast, but if'n you shatter an ankle with a pistol shot? focus and direction are suddenly changed.

get lucky? get both ankles shattered? Game Over, Mostly...

Shoot in the mid center mass,.. (on the slight high side between gut/lungs ),.. and walk the bullets up... refocusing on each shot..

Clearly most people should carry a gas mask with them whenever they go out, just in case.

Perhaps everyone should take a leaf out of the shooters book and wear full body armor too. An umbrella on a rainy day? It's just the same.

A suicide vest has been the choice in much of the rest of the world when mass killings are wished for.I guess you need to know how to make a bomb first......

I don't buy into the idea that more guns equates to a safer society. You will never remove firearms from the American consciousness because it's in the bill of rights and because the gun lobby has too much money and influence. That said, I can see why some Americans believe that a gun not only guarantees their personal safety but that carrying one is somehow essential to doing so. You can't effectively control guns in one region of a country if massive proliferation is going on everywhere else.

I can only speak from my experience - lived in 3 countries, made it to my 30s without ever having been the victim of a violent crime or feeling the need to 'tool up'. If I can do it, others can too.

That said I do recognise that sometimes, $hit just happens. You can't predict it, you can't go around in fear of it happening. Neither can anyone credibly speculate on the outcome of extreme situations that they weren't involved in. People like to - as if to fantasise that they could have been the hero. It's pretty juvenile at the end of the day. It doesn't change the facts of the situation.
