Hi Giggles

Great to see your font! I believe we left Aus at about the same time ... nice to know it may help!!

Hey! I haven't been on VJ in ages hence the reason I didn't respond. Yes, I think we did leave Australia around the same time. I left in January 2010. Any news on your removing conditions yet? I think mine we through so quickly because we are stationed overseas.

We just received the green card in the mail. We didnt get any other correspondence from the USCIS. At least it is over now and we dont have to worry about any of this for a long time. The next step will naturalization. We will probably wait a year or a little more to do that though.

Congrats, Scott!! I bet Mhay is happy she is officially done until N400 at least.

Good to know there was no correspondence ... not! Update on my case ... apparently I changed my address on December 7, 2012 for my CR189 petition. #######? I did not change a thing but most importantly, it is still in that initial review limbo. We are getting ready to PCS and it does bother me that my GC will probably not be here and I have to change my address. That didn't work so well the last time, my address was never changed with USCIS even though I filed the I865 and did it online as well.

so i have question .. if ur military spouse, are you auto usc once you get married or u still need to do the GC then wait 2 years to renew gc 10 years then apply citizenship. im just curious.

You're not an automatic USC. Still have to go through the process. However, expedite requests are more likely to be approved if your spouse has orders for OCONUS or deployment.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

Guys I have a question. I have heard a lot about expediting citizenship ( way before the five year mark )if the spouse is getting deployed. Is there any truth to that? I'll have to hand iranian embassy my passport once I apply for a new one in 2014,2015, and I also won't be able to claim my marriage in paperwork because my husband is not a Muslim.

Yes there is expedited citizenship. You need to meet a coipke of requirements. 1) you need to be a permenant resident 2) your spouse has to be active duty military 3) you have do do the steps in the US if you have been a permenant resident for less than 3 years. 4) your active duty spouse has to be deploying or get orders overseas.

There are a few other stipulations, but that is the basics. To find out more read on uscis.gov under military.

Chances are, you wont hear anything unless they want to interview you. We didnt hear anything since the NOA1. Thr green card showed up before the approval letter did.

Quite out of topic... We're currently living OCONUS (I'm his SOFA dependent) and my husband will PCS back to the US very soon. Do you know if it is possible for our case to be expedited?
