Any body know what the pass/fail rate is in Guangzhou?

My partners says they are turning down applicants lately for financial reasons. Says ones fiance made 60k, had bank accounts and other stocks etc.. and they told her he was not financially stabe enough. This did not make sense to me.

Hi hawkeyez,

I have heard all manner of success rates for the GUZ consulate, with a vague memory of a 50% figure coming to my feeble mind. Perhaps other seasoned (and lightly-breaded) veterans will chime in with their opinions. I will be honest with you, I didn't pay much attention to those numbers, statistically the numbers are too small to have much significance. As you know, there are all manner of reasons for a possible denial/delay of visa issuance, including, but not limited to, financial, bonafide relationship, CCP membership, IMBRA issues, documentary issues, medical exam failure, poor interview, etc..... ad nauseum.... There are so many possible reasons for denial, that chasing down all of the rumors :secret: , could lead to personal mental instability. When you get to Guangzhou for the interview, go across the street to the park and take a look at the daily milieu of people that congregate at the plaza outside the consulate entrance. I would imagine that many of those folks have been trying to get their requisite travel documents for a longggggg time!!! What is significant is whether your fiancee gets her visa. To that end, in our own case, we tried to assemble and present the best possible package of documents/evidence so that my fiancee, and her son, would be successful and issued their visas. We have no time or energy to chase rumors, we are too busy chasing our dreams. :dancing:

Good luck in Guangzhou!

I agree. My fianc'e is in some QQ group and they talk it up and get nervous. I treid to get her to consentrate on her own case, but then she got me wondering. Especially since everyone here seems to have gotten positive results. Also wondering what the next step is if one os turned down? Go to China and marry, then file for K3 ?

Thanks :o:blink::o

Yea, my fiancee is also in a QQ group, maybe she needs to migrate to another QQ group with a more positive focus??? Think positive !

BTW, K-3 is basically obsolete, you should likely use the IR-1/CR-1 route.

But again, think positive!

Hawkeyez, looking at the Guangzhou reviews, I think the ratings would average much lower if only 50% were getting approved. I notice 72.2% that have rated gave either a 4 or 5. Like A&B, I plan on just making sure we have all the evidence categories covered well, and my sweetie is well schooled all about me. I'm glad she is not a member of any of these QQ groups you guys mention- sounds like when they talk, they end up just reinforcing each other's fears. :o

The ratings are higher here due to many factors, the members at large, the guides and postings of information and encouragement. Like A/b be prepared and complete and you will do fine. I have a QQ log inn but just communicate, maybe I should read the other stuff for grins. Hang in there.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Most of these women lie, to MAKE FACE. Be warned. Is a 'hangover' from the 001 BBS portal. The harpies there give bad advice to trip up the newbies, so all are keeping score for who they can help to FAIL.

You've been warned.

Alas, yer not Chinese, though - so anything you tell yer lass about this, will be ignored.

Good Luck !

long as you meet 125% poverty guideline or have a joint sponsor, you are MIGHTY FINE! as i told you on my other post, those qq groups can be devious! also watch out for those standing outside and inside the embassy. they will attempt to scare you and get you to pay for consulting service. once you are in the embassy, head straight to the 5th floor and you will be safe with instructions from official embassy workers.

Thanks all. I have weened my fiance off of QQ and sent her your comments and suggestions.

She' pretty clevr and I don't see her falling for any scams.

Thanks

china is full of scams here and there...

just a side joke - when i was there last in january, i got a call that they were holding my son for ransom and victims voice was on the phone. i was like really? i don't even have kids at all. i guess they were randomly calling cellphones and 1 in a million would be the sucker..

tell your wife to be truthful in the interview and things will go through smoothly.

Well we are now in limbo. Got an "Administrative Review" and sent back to the U.S.

Not sure what this means and they didn't tell her at the interview. She thought because of her language. Two things can happen now. 1. rejected back here for whatever reason. 2. they require something answered and they will contact me for whatever it is. lets hope for #2.

If #1 I will have to file an appeal and go through that process. Doesn't seem to be anyone on VJ who has gone through this. Aren't I the lucky one.

Ugg!!!

Gotta keep the faith baby.

administrative review is rarely sent back to usa - it's usually held in guangzhou whilst the review is going on IN guangzhou.

But ...

ask her to scan all papers given to her , email to you, then you read them, sometime nowish.

I just launched a long letter explaining our relationship and how this rejection affects not only us but our families. I sent to GUZ via their web page. I will also send to USCIS via snail mail tonight. I am still not sure what the issue was/is.

She is on a 20 hour train ride back to her home town now. I will ask her to send whatever when she returns.

Thanks darnell
