Hi everyone. I'm a naturalized citizen of USa since march 2012 and haven't applied for my passport. I filed for fiance visa and i'm thinking, when we get married, i need to change my last name anyway. what's the best thing to do? get my passport now and get name change after i get married or wait til i get married and get a passport? or maybe it doesn't matter either way? :blush: Thanks! :innocent:

If you do not need a passport between now and for a weeks after you get married you should wait. Otherwise you would need to file for a passport ammendment to change the passport later.

If you don't plan on traveling outside the US between now and the time you get married, just wait until after you are married to get your passport.

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.
