Thanks everyone. Is this 4pm India time? Also, Iwaiting, is that 800 number you provided an Indian number or American phone number?

Edit: I assume that all of this would be India time, since this is an Indian website. I just wasn't sure if they'd recognize my browser from the US, or something like that. Also, it would make sense that the 800 number is an Indian number. It's just seems odd to me, as I've only ever heard 800 numbers being US numbers. Hence the questions.

That is an Indian 1800 number. It must be dialed from any Indian phone. Some of cellphone may not allow to dial to this number, but some does. Otherwise, just use landline.

I personally have dialed this in Nov 2011 using Airtel cellphone, Chennai.

Why waiting for Aug 6th? I remember, when I booked the PCC appointment in Nov, which was in next 15 days later, but when I called to customer care and mentioned about urgency, and was told to visit one of their specific PSK where appointment was not required for PCC.

My husband went to the PCC office yesterday in Ghaziabad. It was a long distance from where he lived (4 hours train one way, plus extra time to get to the passport office by taxi). When his appointment turn came, the clerk there refused to issue him a PCC since my name was not on his passport. I have read some of your posts on this form stating that PCC does not require the spouse's name to be on the passport. But I don't know where this law is written. When I talked to my husband yesterday, he was very irritated with the whole thing as he had wasted his whole day traveling, only to be turned away. I do not know how many more months it will take now for him to having to apply both for passport and PCC again. :( He has already taken a day off his work and it will be several weeks before he can even take another day off to go there, also depending on when there is an available time slot for him from the PSK office.

Ugh, I hate this new site. We have been trying to get an appointment both for my husband's PCC and my inlaws passport renewels. We do as Mr.America says so that we are signed in and waiting at 7:30 (the time when our slots open up) and for the past week and a half haven't gotten a slot. My hubby and I try on different computers. I even syncronized my computers clock to theirs as much as possible to not lose a single second. My husband it going to try and go in person, although it already says our office in Surat does not take people without appointments. We will probably end up paying agent fees for the passport renewals. I think this is just another scheme for black money. GRRR

My wife just walked in to PSK office in Ahmedabad and got PCC issued on the same day within 2 hours. They just required to registered application in their system but no need to wait for an appointment. This was for Ahmedabad PSK office.
