I saved this comment (from years ago) from another website, which I think is now defunct. As long as no one takes any of it personally, it yields some food for thought, si man.

---

I don't wish to stereotype all ladies of the USA as undesirables; there are a good number of decent women here. The problem I experienced was that the good ones are either married or already in a relationship. This seems to become more of a problem the older you get.

I was 40 years old when my first wife divorced me. At that age, most of the women that I dated afterwards, were in the 34-and-older age bracket. What I noticed after a period of time was that these women were mostly the rejects of society, or had been severely damaged in previous relationships because of poor choices in their men. The most disturbing observation I made was their refusal or inability to let go of the past and move on with their lives. This seemed to be present no matter what part of the country I was in. They were constantly making comparisons of past negative experiences, and seemingly "looking for something wrong". Many were on antidepressants, and had never confronted and moved beyond their problems.

I could write a book on this subject and present any number of theories as to the cause being age, gender, location, cultural, or whatever. All I know is that in Colombia, the vast majority of women didn't possess these defects. That was good enough for me to marry a beautiful Colombian sweetheart, that most women in this country would label codependent.

---

The above was a reply to a much more blunt observation, which I won't post -- some here would consider it to be inflammatory, and such a post would at least tread on being a TOS violation.

In the quoted passage above, I was most struck by the "severely damaged in previous relationships because of poor choices in their men" observation. This is a reminder that both parties to a potential relationship need to be ready -- situationally and emotionally -- if a relationship is to have a good chance of forming solidly and working afterwards.

The above passage got me to think about Latinas as potential mates. The search took quite a while. At the end of my first phone conversation with Mrs. T-B.-to-be, I knew that she had the potential to be The One when, in her rusty English, she said, "T-B., no matter what happens between us, promise me one thing: please never LIE to me." Si, man.

You maybe right, but either way, it's gonna get hot. But my personal opinion, is this guy is a reject, and figured he could land a hotie for the price of a plane ticket and the cost of K1 Petition.. What he doesn't realize, Ukrainian, Colombian, or wherever. these women arent stupid, they're hopful that they'll meet a decent guy.. But too often they find the guy isn't what he pretended to be, and wise up to the game..

This comment is indicative of either a real @$$ or someone trolling... But, I have to say, hopefully is simply a stupid joke, but if this characters for real, I feel sorry for his fiancee..

It could be that, or it could be the tension (of the process) talking.

we hate american women LOL.

What about women who come here from different countries and already here?

Note: American women would be Indian or possibly Mexican as they already live there. Everyone here is an immigrant one way or another.

I really don't think your statement is correct, OP.

There are many reasons why one would marry someone not from their home country.

I am sure there are many American men and woman (even on here) who would be offended by your statement.

Exactly. LOL and well it is b/c of what American men have done sooooooooo.........hence the fact I am marrying a foreign man. BUT men are men and women are women. May have some differences due to environment, but well eventually similarities are seen. My fiance asked me if I was sure I wasn't Greek?

Glad to be hated! If this comment is indicative of your personality and character as a human being, then I doubt you would have to try too hard to have your feelings reciprocated. B-)

I do not hate American men just because I was married to one before that was a complete controlling jerk(word chosen as to not curse and offend anyone). I never went out looking for someone from another country. I just met and fell in love with a man that was born and lived elsewhere. The immigration process is not fun and quite costly. If I had not just so happened to fall in love with someone in another country, I would never have set out to find someone outside the US and go through this process on purpose.
