Hi guys,

Hope you are doing well while waiting for your loved ones.

Although I've done my homework by reading the NVC info provided on VJ I have a few questions :blush:

1. Our NOA 2 was approved on July 5th. Now how do we know when NVC received the case? If they send notification who gets it (petitioner or beneficiary)?

2. Who should call NVC petitioner or beneficiary?

3. After NOA 2 I have collected the following documents:

- International birth certificate;

- International marriage certificate;

- Police certificates from the countries in which I lived for more than 6 months and

- Vaccine report (list of all vaccines to date)

Have no criminal records and was never married before. Is this all I need?

4. DS-3032 "Choice of Agent Form" - Most people select the US based petitioner. Why is that?

Thanks in advance for your assistance and good luck with your journey :)

You call every day usually after a day. It's been taking 15 business days for cases to arrive. A few sooner and some later. Or the Petitioner can wait for the hardcopy letter in the mail once they receive.

2. Who should call NVC petitioner or beneficiary? Petitioner

3. After NOA 2 I have collected the following documents: You have much more to collect

- International birth certificate;

- International marriage certificate;

- Police certificates from the countries in which I lived for more than 6 months and

- Vaccine report (list of all vaccines to date) vaccinatioons hold on to that for your medical to give to physiacians panel

Have no criminal records and was never married before. Is this all I need? You will also need 2 passport pics on white back ground 2 X 2, Biographical pages from beneficiary's passport, than you have the whole AOS please go back and read the guides and join the NVC July Filers thread http://www.visajourn...lers-july-2012/ you have alot of document gathering. still

4. DS-3032 "Choice of Agent Form" - Most people select the US based petitioner. Why is that? Because its very hard to send postal mail abroad and there's no guarantee it will get there. And its easier if NVC has to contact you. Both partys however get email notification on everything. Once your case has arrived within hopefully 2 weeks maybe less maybe on that same call you get your case# and IIN(Invoice Identification number) and thats when you also give both emails of Petitioner and Beneficiary.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and good luck with your journey :)

Where are my manners. Congratulations getting to the next step. And wishing all the very best. In that thread you can ask anything many can help ease your mind but I gave you most of what you need but do read the guides cuz you left out all you need for AOSA unless you were just wondering just what the beneficiary needs to get. If so sorry if you already got it together.

4. DS-3032 "Choice of Agent Form" - Most people select the US based petitioner. Why is that?

Thanks in advance for your assistance and good luck with your journey :)

1. You'll only know NVC has received the case by calling them up. They don't send out notification for this.

2. Doesn't matter, but it's usually more convenient (same time zone) and generally cheaper for the US citizen to call. (Although, I was the beneficiary and was the only one that called for our case, my husband, the USC, never called).

3. You'll also need the DS-230 filled out, as well as photocopy of the bio-data page of your passport, as well as 2 passport-style pictures (taken with the last 6 months). If you've ever been divorced, you'll need those certificates too. Your vaccine documentation isn't needed for the IV package, this is only needed for your medical later on.

4. If you give over both email addresses to an operator once a case number has been assigned, both parties receive correspondence from NVC by email, so the DS-3032 has kind of become a moot form. Before they used to do this though, NVC would mail out correspondence to the selected agent. Obviously, it's easier and faster to receive mail within the US than some country abroad where it may take months to receive. This is why the petitioner is typically selected as agent. But, since things have changed, you can honestly choose whoever you want if both email addresses are given to NVC.

While you're waiting for your case number, I suggest you click on the last 2 links in my signature and have fun reading :)
