Is anyone else waiting this long for their visas to get approved after the interview date? Looks like most people get theirs in about 2-4 weeks. I don't understand why it's taking so long and it's making us miserable. When I call the USE they just tell me over and over again that the status is: it's been submitted to the consular officer for review. They are not requesting add'l docs or a 2nd interview. I talked to them for 40 minutes last week and they literally just repeated themselves the whole time from the manual of answers they are given.

Finally after 40 minutes they told me I could send a fax asking for a status inquiry and it would be given to the consulate officer so I took down the info and sent the fax last Thursday. No reply yet, but I'll wait a couple more days before I decide what to do next.

Anyone else in this situation? If so, what are you doing about it?

Thanks.

Hello Bogart,

I like to share with you my experience. I had my interview at the US Embassy Manila, last September 23, 2005. After the interview I was asked to submit additional documents, which I submitted October 27 back at the US Embassy. I submitted after I got the additional request from my husband. I got my visa November 19, 2005 on my hand. Prior to that I got a text message from DELBROS, November 17 informing me that my visa is going to be sent to me in 5 working days. Then after that,, more procedures I have to go through..counselling requirements by the Comission for Overseas Filipinos.

I am now in the USA and yes with another process..waiting for the approval of my application for Adjustment of Status.

I hope somehow, my letter would be sort of help, as for the timeline..

Good luck!

Jan

Everyone is in AR. AR can mean that your name is being checked stateside, it can mean that your case needs some more investigation. NO ONE can expedite the AR process if it is security checks it is considered a matter of National Security since 9/11. All your congressman can do is to email them and ask for a status update and they will get the same canned response we did for 5 months.

Here is a link that might be helpful in understanding AR. http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/Secu...tiveReview.html

PS AR can last from 17 days to 2 years in very few cases but it is not unheard of. See fianceinwaiting she just got her K1 after 2 1/2 years. A doctor got his after 17 days.

yes, we also went through those things to speed up my case at the US Embassy before. My parents-in-law called up their State Senator and Congress Representative and it was through their office the US Embassy was reached directly as they have a direct line and the staff of the Congress Representative always call my husband for updates.

Good luck ! and brace yourself up for more petition and documents that is for the adjustment of status once you get married.

I called for an INFOPASS to follow up my AOS. Thank you for the suggestion too.

That's a good idea. I'll try writing my congressman too. Thanks,

Chad
