immigrate without marriage

I am posting a question for someone else i know in a situation where he is a US Citizen but his girlfriend is in England. He isn't so keen on doing the whole marriage thing as he has been divorced. I was wondering if anyone knows any other way for them to be together?? She does not need to work when she moves here, just need some kind of visa for them to be together.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If family-based immigration is out she can try to get a job in the USA and try to immigrate via employment. I don't think she's likely to be able to immigrate from the UK on the basis of needing asylum.

Another option is a student visa, but a sponsor would be required with adequate assets on hand (a hefty amount if I understand correctly).

Sponsor is not necessary if the applicant has adequate amount (one years tuition and living expenses).
