Health Insurance in Vietnam

Does anybody have any experience with health insurance in Vietnam? I need to get health insurance for my wife while she's in Vietnam. My work insurance is questionable about whether they will cover her in Vietnam, so I'm looking to get insurance for her while she's in Vietnam. Any suggestions?

What are you wanting to do with this coverage? It's not like it is here.

I just want insurance for emergencies like accidents or unexpected problems. It would be nice to get health check-ups, but major medical illnesses are mainly what I'm looking for.

I believe the first thing to establish is how long will your wife be in Vietnam? Knowing this will determine residency and if travel insurance (purchase from original country) or purchasing health insurance locally in Vietnam is the solution!

As far as expatriate medical/health insurance in Vietnam are concern there are many options that are available from companies like BlueCross, Liberty and Chartis that may meet with your requirement.
