RFE taxes 2011

Good luck! Taxes really aren't that difficult once you get started on them. If you can handle all this immigration stuff, you can handle taxes. And you have the benefit of the paper forms - when you're all done you can check and make sure your numbers match.

I hope you can get it filed soon, maybe by the end of the week. You've been through a lot of obstacles on this process! It's time for something to go smoothly!

I just e file, so exited! Hope IRS will accept it!!

So IRS didn't accept my e filling.

I just mail them my 2 forms 1040 and 2555, my tax preparer was right

At the same time I mail also the 2 forms to USCIS in response of my RFE, don't thikn that they will take it but at least it will give me more time in order to get those transcript in hand!!!!!

Waiting for IRS to process, they said 6 to 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will be back in september for more updates!!

Good luck with it. Normally, a plain photocopy of your tax return is sufficient. However, since you are late filing, they want to see proof that you actually filed, not just filled out the paperwork (if it was timely they can check with IRS to confirm filing). In this case, I think what you did was best. Hopefully it will at least buy you more time with it. Best of luck.

Hopefully they won't take that long to process. I would give them a few weeks, then start calling into the automated system and see if they've got it yet.

I have an 800 number somewhere if you need it.

I wanted to tell you that I had to call the IRS the other day to get a transaction history on my account (long, irrelevant story) but, I got an idea of how quickly they processed my 2011 tax return.

I filed electronically on April 13th. They officially "received" it on April 15th. They processed it on May 28th. So, about 6 weeks.

Obviously, I filed at the busiest possible time, but they still got it through in 6 weeks. Yours might be faster since they should be sitting around with little to do right now.

Just thought you'd like to know.

The good thing is that I can check with the 1 800 number without taling to anyone so it is very convenient!!!
