There you go again, plain ignorance.

It actually took about 20-24 years and 3 1/2 Presidents to get us into this 'mess.'

It started with Reagan and certain appointees, Bush Sr helped it a long a little bit, and actually the final nail in the coffin happened during the last 2 years of the Clinton presidency.

The only thing that Bush Jr. is guilty of is sending spending through the roof, and not vetoing a single piece of legislation until the Dems took over in January of 2007. The makings of the "mess" we are in started long before then.

The demolition of the financial/insurance sector and the groundwork fro the booming of the derivatives market which eventually led to the crash of the housing market all happened prior to Bush taking office. You can't blame Clinton directly himself for the mess, but you sure as hell can his administration, especially with the likes of Robert Rubin and Larry Summers.

You wan to BLAME anyone for what's going on and why the economy collapsed, blame Reagan for appointing Alan Greenspan as the chairman of the Fed in the 80's. It all started right there.

That was an honest mistake. I meant "it took more than 4 years and more than 1 president" ... I edited and didn't add the word I meant to.

Yeah there is. Success in business, making money, ect... Everything Obama seems to be running against.

And what best way to shut up President Obama than to present a clean tax return and dare him to find something wrong with it....

But then again, it would presume the existence of clean accurate returns.... You can't call a bluff if you are holding a pair of deuces...

Well, no. Obama didn't run against Bush. Obama promises and attitude and a horrible McCain campaign won him the election.

Voting for someone because they aren't someone else when they have no set plan doesn't make sense. But good luck with that.

I'm sure it'll turn out okay. Whatever he does.

For all the anti-Obama stuff that gets posted here every day (some of it justified), I never see pro-Romney ANYTHING. Nobody ever steps up and states why he'd be a better President. "Just because" isn't an answer. "He isn't Obama" isn't an answer. What does Romney bring to the table that will turn America around and put it on the right path again?

It took longer than 4 years and 1 President to get into this mess, so I'm wondering what exactly a new President (and apparently, it can be ANYONE other than Obama) will do.

8 years of Bush, Cheney, and Karl Row along with McCain picking Sarah Palin has his running mate is what won Obama that election.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

i'm pretty sure the IRS would have knocked on his door by now.

you wouldn't have any idea why obama's school records are sealed would you? you think they might show something he doesn't want us to see?

It either contains something President Obama does not want us to see - not unlike Romney's tax returns

-or-

They are sealed because he does not need to show them to anyone - not unlike Romney's tax returns.

Feel free to pick the answer which best suits your partisan persuasion.

Obvious - even if squeaky clean, it will be criticized. Certain deductions will be questioned. The amount of money he made will be crticized. Doesn't matter squat if the IRS found it completely legal, it will be criticized on "moral" grounds. You will here pundits claiming, "it doesn't matter if it was legal, it was not entirely ethical".

I wouldn't release anything that isn't required by law.

As high a profile a person like Romney is I would bet that his returns are squeaky clean. If they weren't he would have already had a visit from the IRS. I am sure he is under the microscope already. No, this is about gathering ammunition to further the class warfare attacks that are already evident in the Bain attacks. I don't blame him for holding back his returns.

Which indicates you support President Obama in not making his school records public, for the vary same reasons, to be sure?

The common popular perception is that Romney lied about his involvement with Bain. My take is that he can't show his tax returns because they will show he was still involved with Bain after he had allegedly left.

I am not saying they are. I believe Romney's tax returns and President Obama's school records are none of anyone's business.

Romney should show is tax returns about the same time we get to see Obama's real birth certificate.

Lets not forget that that information is in the hands of the government (IRS). Given that it is an election year and Romney's opponent is the president, I am sure there would have already been a congressional investigation with the appropriate request for information. No, the Bain thing is just partisan mud throwing. If there were a smoking gun hidden in his tax returns we would have already seen it.
