have you done the process please advise because the DS-3032 received by my daughter last oct supposedly she should send it to me is in her hand,,,i am blessed i create my account here in VJ really helpful, the DS-3032 will send through LBC tomorrow,,,i am waiting for DS-230 application form however, no documents received since oct, hays im delayed i really dont know the procedure thank you VJ TO LET-IT-BE for the nvc process flow docs.and rea's info,,,very interesting i'll let you know soon,

yes, i have done the process of ds-3032, what i did was I emailed the form to my parents for them to fill it out and signed it and then they "MAILED the filled & already signed" forms back to me..

"*** after 6 days

July 31, 2012 - emailed DS-3032 to parents for them to print then fill out - assigning me(petitioner) as their agent.

This was done because I found out that in some countries, it could take as long as 1-2 months before the actual mail containing the DS-3032 from National Visa Center to arrive in the applicants(parents) address."

you can check out my "about me" tab on my profile for more details...goodluck!

the opinions that i express in this website are my own and are not legal advise...thank you...

06/18/12: I-130 for parents approved

06/25/12: received email from USDOS - with MNL# assigned for both parents & agent registration (DS-3032)

06/25/12: received email from USDOS - requesting for AOS (Affidavit of Support) processing fee for $88.00

Yes, we emailed the Choice of agent to NVCInquiry from my parents email accounts. I think it is easier & quicker to send it by email versus by mail.

Thanks Let-it-be! How are your parents' cases going? do they have interview schedule yet? Wish your family the best ^_^

Hi Rea, I just saw this. I am very happy for you and your parents. God blessed!

just want to share the good news!!!

my mom and my dad got their US VISA approved already!!! I called them last night after their interview and they said, the Consular Officer only asked them 4 questions:

1) Where does your petitioner lives?

2) What kind of work does she do?/what job?

3) How many kids does she have?

4) Have you seen her kids already?

That was it....then after the interview, the Consular Officer said something like "I see no problem with your application, your visa is approved"

yay!!!

thanks to all the vj'ers that helped me especially chris!! and of course THANK GOD!!!

yay, signing out....

I called NVC yesterday & Dad's case status is case complete. Mom's case had a DS-230 mistake, so I have to call again to confirm what other mistakes are there. I'm hoping for an April Interview as that will be the most convenient month for my parents. March is just way to close. LOLlaughing.gif

Hope yours is going well as well.

Judging on Rea's timeline, your guess is right. Your parents interview might be March/April hehe. Hopefully the mistake you mentioned was fixed. I'm scared of mistake in immigration process hehe.

Therefore to avoid mistakes, Let-it-be, again I have questions haha. Please help me...

For AOS packages, should I send for mom's and dad's together in 1 envelop?

For DS-230 should I prepare them first as James' shortcut? Coz I want to see my parents asap. Do we really have to mail original of Birth cert. Marriage license etc? If yes, i ask my parents complete the whole DS230 and mail them to me and be ready anytime NVC asks.

Thanks so much for your time!

Yes, you can put the two AOS packets in one courier envelope. I placed my packets in manila envelopes & mailed them together in one USPS envelope.

Yes, all original civil documents for the two DS-230 packets.

The following are what I prepared for my packets:

1. Two (2) certified true copies of my birth certificate.

2. Two (2) certified true copies of my marriage certificate

3. Two (2) certified true copies of parents marriage certificate

4. Their certified true copies birth certificates

5. Their police clearances

I also included photocopies of each of those documents. Plus cover sheets, cover letters, DS-230 forms, passport photos & photocopy of their biographic page (passports).

Why did you have to send your marriage certificate? It has nothing to prove your relationship with your parents?

So certified copies will work too (for birth and marriage certificates)? Police clearances are original ones?

It is clearly indicated in the instructions what documents to send. See the link for yourself: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Marriage certificate is my proof for legal name change.

Who needs to submit petitioner documents?

If you are applying for an IR5 (Parent of a U.S. Citizen) visa, you are required to provide:

  • Original or certified copy of your Petitioner’s birth certificate
  • Original or certified copy of your Petitioner’s marriage certificate from the Petitioner’s current and all previous marriages.

Yes, the certified true copies I sent were from the issuing agency (National Statistic Office) for birth, marriage certificates etc in my country.

Hi Rea,

Finally my parents are done with everything, and will be coming here around july or august because my sister is getting married in June. Anyway, I'm wondering how do they get their immigrant CARD when they get here? and do we have to pay more fees when they get here?

Thanks for always answering all my questions, you have been a big part in my parent's approval. I can't thank you enough for being so nice and helpful to me.

I got an RFE for the birth certificate as well. It took just 1 week after I sent it to CSC and then they I got the approval.

Hi, can you share what was the RFE with the BC is about? thank you =)

Does anyone here have any experiences about the RFE (birth certificate) processing times? II sent it a month ago and nothing has changed. I understand that the USCIS has up to 60 days for RFE Response Review. That's too long for a simple birth certificate request.

Hi JC_Colin,

can you share what kind of RFE with BC you needed? did you not send your bc, or was there a discrepancy? thanks =)

😁

I haven't mailed it yet. I just need correct information on what to include on the envelope..But I saw the rea profile and I think I got it right..

My only question now is on line 19 on the I-130 form where it asks the "Your Relatives Address Abroad", does this mean my parents address?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mrsartis,

The RFE was issued for sending only affidavits and not sending a copy of the birth certificate as required for the I-130. No, there was no discrepancy. I just did not send it along with the I-130 package. I lost a copy of BC and I was waiting for a certified copy from the birth country. My mother I-130 was finally approved and she will be attending the interview at the consulate very soon. Good luck to you!
