We used one cover letter for both and put both petitions in one envelope. So far they are being processed together I think. We used separate checks and separate evidence for each petition.

my mom and my dad got their US VISA approved already!!! I called them last night after their interview and they said, the Consular Officer only asked them 4 questions:

1) Where does your petitioner lives?

3) How many kids does she have?

4) Have you seen her kids already?

That was it....then after the interview, the Consular Officer said something like "I see no problem with your application, your visa is approved"

October 29 and 30, 2012 - my parents finally finished their medical at SLEC...

they went to SLEC as early as 4:00 Oct 29 (Monday) and did the following:

-laboratory

-radiology

-vital signs

-immunization interview/tuberculin test

then they were asked to come back with an appointment at 9:00 the next day(Oct 30) for vaccinations...Thank GOD! they both had no issues...

yay!! one step closer!!

Hi rea, I looked at your timeline and noticed that they never asked you for your original birth certificate after sending the civil documents to NVC. I already sent the civil documents weeks ago and they sent me and email to send them original birth cert/ certified copy from NSO. I sent them a copy of my birth cert when i initially filed for the petition, along with the application form and check.

It is because on my I-130 petition for my parents, I sent an Original (not just a copy) of my NSO issued birth certificate already then after that they never asked for it in my case anymore...

thanks and goodluck!

hi chrystaline!

like you i petitioned both my parents and my answer on #8 is YES and #9 - no answer - unless you have a sibling that is below 21 years of age that can go with either of your parents once their petition is approved...

and if you will carefully read #9 it says "Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."

tax transcripts are better....goodluck!

Hi Rea,

First off I would like to congratulate you for your parents visa! I wish I would also have a smooth process like you! Anywho, I have a question regarding the #9, I have a sibling that is 17yrs old. Did you mean she can go with either of my parents once their petition is approved? Are they gonna require something for sibling? I just wanna make sure before anything else. Still waiting for the approval. TIA!:-)

When a US citizen petitions for a parent, only the parent will get a visa. No one else is eligible for a visa.

When you, the USC, petitions for your parent, only your parent will get a visa. Your 17 years old brother will not get a visa.

You will need to petition for your brother separately which takes 20+ years. Alternatively his green card parent can petition for him after the parent immigrates to the US. If his CSPA age is under 21 at the time a visa is available in the F2a category, it would be a 2-3 years wait for him. If his CSPA age is over 21 at the time a visa is available in the F2a category, CSPA will not help him and he would age out into the F2b category where the wait is 10 years.

You send the Form DS-3032 Part I &II and your civil documents ( e.i. BC, MC, 2x2 photos, NBI, photocopy of passport bio-page) to your daughter. She then sends all of that to NVC. I attached the NVC Process Flowchart file below.

CORRECTION:

You send the Form DS-3032 Choice of Address and Agent to NVC.

I'm sorry for the confusion.

What I meant was send Form DS-230 Part I &II (Application for Immigrant Visa & Alien Registration) with your civil documents to your daughter. She then sends all of those to NVC.
